Stupid question about barbell weight

Okay this is going to sound stupid, but I want to make sure I know what I'm using for weight. I bought a barbell set that says it's 40 lbs of weight. 4- 5lbs and 4- 2.5 lbs. So that equals 30 lbs, right. So if my math is right, each barbell is 5 lbs each?

If you have two barbells, then yes, I'd guess they are 5 1bs each. Pick up one of the 5 1b weights then pick up a barbell and see if they seem to weigh the same. Are you doing CLX with a barbell? I've only used dumbbells.0 -

They seem the same but I have 1 weaker arm so it's hard to tell lol. I've been counting them as 5 all week. They're probably called dumbbells lol.0
