Hi! my name is Katie. I am a single mom of an 11 year old daughter. I began my weight loss journey at 250 pounds. I am currently at 180 pounds. I was a long time binge/ undereater and am starting eat more to weigh less 2 days in. it is amazing how much better you feel when you eat properly.

Hi Katie, congratulations on your weight loss so far. That's awesome. Your doing something right. I have been trying to loose weight for years, and have tried lots of different diets. But when on a diet I don't feel 'normal'. So April 2012 I decided to stop dieting and try to eat like my 'normal' friends, but within moderation. I also started exercising a bit more. I lost 1st 5lbs in a year, but recently came to a standstill, so I joined mfp. Best thing I ever did. So far lost 6.5lbs. Never thought that counting cals would work for me,but it does and I love it. I eat everything I want, just within moderation, and I am learning to make our favourite meals in a healthier way, and making new recipes.
