It would put additional burden and regulation on the law abiding gun owner. The law abiding gun owners aren't the problem. Not one of the shooting incidents that have occured were perpetrated by a law abiding gun owner. Not one of them would have been stopped by additional back ground checks. It does nothing to solve the problem.

"Shall not be infringed" That's what's wrong with it.

And for the record, online sales are subject to background checks. Anytime you buy a firearm online, it needs to be shipped to an FFL who will then make you fill out a 4473.

As far as gun shows go, the only sales that aren't subject to background checks are the private sales made in the parking lots. Creating a new law isn't going to prevent bad guys from buying guns from other bad guys in parking lots, back alleys, etc.

just seems like if you are going to do a check on someone buy a gun at a store you should do the same at a gun show insider/or in parking lot.

unless you are arguing there should be no checks at all i fail to see the problem.

Background checks are not required, nor are they feasible for private, person-to-person sales. Seeing as how private person-to-person sales are still legal, no new law will prevent what's trying to be prevented.

It's also a illegal for a private seller to sell a firearm to someone they believe is legally prohibited from buying one. Again, an honest person will not make the transaction. A bad guy isn't going to care about any new law and will proceed with the sale as planned.
