carb/caloire cycling to boost metabolism

Hi all,
So I wanted to see if any of you fellow low carbers out there have tried carb cycling to give your metabolism a boost. A bit of background - I've been on and off with low carb diets for over 10 years.
However, I now focus on REAL food, very little processed foods. I live a Paleo-ish lifestyle (I do eat grassfed dairy - mostly raw). I have lost 27lbs since October, and my weight loss totally stalled for a couple months early this spring. I decided it was time to take down the fat a bit and start tracking calories. I also began stregnth training and doing some HIIT cardio training. The weight definately started to come off again, and I eat any where from 75 to 100 grams of carbs per day - mostly from vegetables and dairy such as yogurt. As far as calories, I stick with 1200-1300 net per day.
As far as pounds, I only have about 8 more to my goal of 130 lbs. I know the last few pounds are always the toughest, and a lot of research out there says to have a day every week or so where you up your carbs/calories by as much as 30% (you do this on a day that you work out to ensure it's not stored as fat). This should get your metabolism racing at it's best.
Do any of you out there do this regularly without suffering any weight gain or weight loss plateaus?
Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I kind of do, but it's nothing crazy - usually around 150g carbs sometimes on the weekend (try to keep it just 1 day), versus in the 75-100 range. It's more to let myself have other things occasionally, not necessarily to carb cycle on purpose, but as long as I don't go hog-wild all weekend, I'm usually fine.
Have you researched intermittent fasting at all?0 -
Yes I have looked into IF - I just don't know if I'm ready to jump into that yet . Thanks for your response.0

I tried it before, it's mostly just skipping breakfast. Now I only do it when I've gone way overboard the day before and am not hungry the next morning!!0
