I'm one of those people that has been jumping back and forth from 1200 calorie diets for months, at the encouragement of other MFP members, my doctor etc, but after completing Insanity, eating 1200-1400 calories a day, I knew something was really wrong. I currently, and have been for a month or so, netting 1400 a day, by eating back my exercise calories, but still I know this can't be right, it's clearly not working! EM2WL must be the way!

I'm 21, 170 pounds, 5'11"
scoobys workshop gives me:

BMR = 1622
Maintain: 2515
-15%: 2138

Now I got this using 'Moderate exercise'
I typically burn 350-650 calories a day, 5-6 days a week,
[C25K, lifting, DailyBurn, dance, etc.]
does Moderate sound like the right choice?

So according to this I should, from now on, eat 2138 every day, regardless of if it's my rest day..
and if I happen to burn more than 516 calories [which does happen]
then I should eat back the difference [to make sure I net above my BMR?]
Also I typically average about 90-120g of protein per day on a vegan diet
This of course feels like a ton of food, but that's only because I, like many people,
have been brainwashed into thinking we have to practically starve ourselves to be thin/fit, but not anymore!
I also have Hashimotos Disease & Hypothyroidism, but I haven't found anything that says I need to factor it in..
Thank you in advance!! <3

5-6 days a week working out would bump you to Highly Active or strenuous, not Moderate. I would recalculate at the higher level. This would also then make sure you would not be near your BMR so you wouldnt have to worry about eating back anything additional.
2100 cals is a lot when you are used to 1200-1400.. But I promise you, you adjust after a few days to a week and soon you cant ever imaging eating as low as you used to..:)

oh ok! thanks for the info! i just want to make sure im not eating too much, of course, but ill keep track either way!
it is definitely going to be a weird adjustment, but I'm looking forward to having more energy,
and not being quite so anal about meeting calorie requirements.. this should be much easier!
and maybe i'll finally break my plateau in a couple weeks! <3
    thanks again!!
