Hi Everyone,
Maybe someone can help me.
Yesterday I had some tests done and one of the tests I had to have done included ventolin puffer- I am just wondering if anyone else who takes this medication find there BG goes up?
Today with my fasting bg I was a 6.0 mmol/L I almost had a heart attack as (usually I am in the low to mid 4.0's mmol/L's) and it has stayed this way all day and I have generally had an off day.
Thankfully I don't need to take it again.
Thanks heaps,

Yep, albuterol can raise blood glucose.
From the info sheet for Ventolin on side effects: worsening of other medical problems in people who also use
VENTOLIN HFA, including increases in blood sugar.
Glad you don't have to take it again0 -

I have asthma and use albuteral inhaler. I have never tested to see if it raises up my sugar. I guess when you can't breath, a sugar rise is the last thing on my mind. I tried the VENTOLIN a year ago and it didn't act quick enough for me. I can not remember what name I have for my inhaler now. I just know it costs me too much. ha ha. (glad I don't need to use it too often)0

I have never had to use any form of asthma inhalers as I am not an asthmatic thankfully. They did a lung function test on me that's why I had to have it.0

I recently had a lung function test as well. They gave me zeponex i think its spelled wrong, but it was to see if my lung function improved. Gave me an anxiety attack.
