How important is it to stick to the plan exactly?

Did Week 3 Day 2 of C25K today, sort of.

Got up at 5:30 am as planned, got dressed and out and started the program with my youngest dog. Unfortunately, about half way through my ear bud seems to have stopped working, so I wasn't given the "run" commands for the second half of the program. Stupidly I was walking along, thinking about other things and it took me 5 minutes to notice, so I missed a 3 minute run and part of a 90 second run. I ran the 90 second run during the rest of it and into the cool down and then walked for 90 seconds and did the 3 minute run through the rest of the 5 minute cool down. I had to finish walking home, so I did get almost a 5 minute cool down after this, so does this count as doing W3D2, or should the walk in the middle affect it enough for it to not count?

My statistics on the app for this day are wrong now, obviously. Should I just go on to day 3 on Friday or should I repeat day 2.

I say it counts. I've had this happen...also, there's enough variation between C25k programs to argue that you have to hit every minute just as planned. If you get in the runs and the walks, you've got the conditioning you need.

I vote move on to day 3. It sounds to me like you completed the required intervals...you just had an extended break in between. I wouldn't think that would make much of a difference.

I would do it again, but I have OCD.

I would continue on. That's what I've done when I've had app problems. However, I'm in favor of altering the program to suit your needs when it makes sense. I like to do a full 5K so I got longer than the app and do my own intervals when it's done.

Thanks. I think that I'm going to just go on.
