Cured my binging with with food ?

First of all, new here and want some friends! Please add me =)

As a binge eater, I know the feeling of my brain just shutting off and my mouth taking over only to get my "feelings" back after the binge/next morning. I wanted to tell everyone that for the 1st time in 5 years I have only binged a few times since becoming Paleo.
I don't want to describe what the paleo diet is, you can google it (I don't want to try and make it like I am selling an idea to anyone) But I learned that I am truly addicted to food and what foods make me binge. SUGAR. and I mean ever kind of sugar besides fruit. BREAD OR ANY WHOLE GRAIN/PASTA/ANY WHEAT/SOY/GRAINS and added sugars. For the first time in my life I have learned I do not need them, and I feel at peace with myself.

Just curious, how long have you been following Paleo? I also find that within a week of getting carbs and sugar out of my diet, cravings for them are dramatically reduced. The problem is that when I do endulge, the binge can be so much worse. I'm trying to come around to the idea that I don't have to eat those foods ever, but part of me is still pretty resistant to that. But life sure is easier when I don't have to fight a constant urge for sugar!

I can sustain just about anything for a couple of weeks, maybe up to six weeks, two months. Then I crash. I think I crash, not at the table, but at the grocery store, because I have to cook and shop for my family.

I have honestly considered cocaine as a solution. It works for Hollywood dieters ... Ok. Not honestly considering cocaine. I can't afford it!

I agree that cutting out carbs makes the cravings less strong. I can do this for a few weeks, but I always fall, and I fall HARD. My last Paleo-period ended with a two-week long carb feast.

Great that it works for you though!
