How much to eat of what

Although my MAIN reason for starting this plan is not weight loss, I would ideally like to lose about 10-15 lbs. Do you guys even worry about what you eat? Once I completely eradicate the junky processed stuff, will my appetite naturally regulate and the weight come off? I just have no idea how much protein, fat, veggies, fruit....I should be eating at each meal or in a day. It's such a change to not worry about the fat! I am currently 5ft 3 and weigh around 133. Thanks! I currently walk/run 4-5 days a week for between 35 -50 minutes.

Once I get used to eating Paleo again, I have to track to make sure I eat enough. I can be totally happy on less than 1000 calories a day, which isn't good for me AND doesn't help me lose weight.0

For my first paleo breakfast, I had a 5 egg white omelet, 2 slices Coleman uncured bacon, and a banana. About an hour later, I was starving!0

It various for everyone, I think. People say high-fat is super satiating and makes it easier to eat less but that's not been true for me. There is a local steakhouse that does an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet on Sundays. I can go to it and eat an obscene amount of prime rib, ham, bacon, sausage and eggs. Like, I must exceed 4000 calories, when I do it... And that's just a rough, low-side, estimate. If anything, it's more than that.
This is actually why I track so religiously. My satiety signals are nearly completely non-existent. You ever see that Louis CK bit about when the doctor asks him how soon after he starts eating it is, that he begins to feel full (http://youtu.be/nuO4OZJ5ncY NB: Language, of course. It's Louis CK. Duh.)? His answer to that question is pretty much me if I don't plan and pre-measure what I eat.0 -
I've also lost touch with my fullness signals. However, I've also been eating a ton of the things that tend to make you want more of them! I'll have to see if it's the case when I get rid of them. So far, I've only given up junk food snacks and as of today bread, eng. muffins, bagels, etc....-0

how come no yolks?this is the healthy part of the egg
once you get over the grains and carbs u will notice your hunger is much more manageable.
if you work out you're tdee -20% you can figure out your calories.
there are lots of online calculators for that.
once you have that number you can work out your macros..lots of people would eat 60-30-10(fat,protein and carb grams),the fat helps to keep you fuller longer(at least with some of us).
Hope it all goes well for u.0 -
No yolks=I still can't quite get used to the idea that more fat is actually better! That's why I was kind of curious as to what an average day should be....So used to doing the low fat, high fiber thing!0

I bet you were starving because you didn't eat the YOLKS! They are where all the nutrients are. Why don't you try the same breakfast with 3 whole eggs and see how you feel.0 -
Really? 3 whole eggs, the bacon, and banana? This will take me awhile to get used to!0

If you go with Mark Sisson's carb curb as your base, and figure the protein needs for a given demographic, you get something like:
50g-100g carbs (think of this as a max, red is bad)
65g-133g protein (depends on your specific needs, if you're not working out, it would be on the low end, if you're weight lifting, you'll need the higher end and possibly more; think of this goal as a minimum to shoot for - red is good)
Fat to fill the remaining calories (will probably work out to around 75g-100g, give or take)
Ratios often end up around 10/30/60 carbs/protein/fat, again, depending on your exact numbers for carbs and protein.
As for foods, your staples will be meats and veggies (or as Mark puts it "plants and animals"). Fruit is okay if you're not looking to lose weight, though don't go overboard, and generally stick to things like berries (the tropical fruits, like citrus, bananas, etc. have a lot of sugar in them and the carbs can quickly add up).
But really, it depends on what your goals are. There was someone a while back who was looking at a higher carb Paleo, which included a lot of things like sweet potatoes, because she was a runner. Conversely, there are some people on here who are keto-Paleo, so they eat only about 20g of carbs per day.0 -

You would be better served by eating 3 whole eggs. Much more satiating.0 -
