medication question

I had the gastric bypass in January. Yesterday I had severe gas pain even though I took beano & gasx. Today I still hurt. Can I take Pepto-bismal after RNY surgery?

Pepto is a NSAID. if your doctor said to avoid them then don't take it. If your surgeon has no suggestions, talk to your Pharmacist. they KNOW their stuff and how it workds with the body. Have you tried walking??? Are you passing any gas?? if not, your surgeon should be told. you may have a "kink" in there somewhere....

Nurse said I could take Pepto but it didn't help but ginger does. Passing gas so no kinks. Whew.

Ginger is GREAT for calming the stomach. Ginger tea (made by steeping ginger and straining it) also works great.
I always heard ginger ale is good too....I've always, again, steeped some ginger, - cooled it - and added it to the ginger ale. I love the spicyness of ginger
