I know a lot of us in this group may not have started out THAT big, and I think our success stories may get lost among some of the other amazing stories of people who have lost a ton of weight. I don't want a thread all about me, but let's share our before and after pictures! I am 5'7 and I have lost about 25 pounds since January. What's your story?!

You were about the same size as I am now and I'd LOVE to look like you do now. Can you give us stats and how you do it. I keep reading about how difficult it is to lose when you are near target weight so it's great to see someone who has done it.
Well done!!!0 -
I started out ~153, and I weighed in today at 127...Woohoo! I have been NETTING 1200 during the week and closer to 1500-1700 on Sat/Sun. I have definitely started eating more fruits and vegetables, but I also eat whatever treats I want if it fits in my calories. I do a short (20-30 min) workout 3-4 days a week. It is usually something like a Jillian Michaels DVD or ride on the stationary bike. Personally, I have found that participating in some of the weight loss challenges on this website help keep me accountable. If I know I have to check in with someone and tell them my weight for that week, I usually stick to my plan a little better!0

Wow- 1200!! How tall are you? What's your TDEE?0

I'm exactly 5'6.5...I usually round up to 5'7 . My current TDEE is right at 1800, but that is figured without exercise as I follow the MFP method of eating back exercise calories. This puts me at a 600 calorie deficit the days I stick to 1200, and a little less on the weekend.0 -
you look great!
I haven't lost any weight but I didn't need to, really. I have to give myself credit because I have gone from a smoker who ate fast food everyday and never exercised to someone who can jog for 30 minutes (not fast, but whatevs) and I eat so much better. I have eaten at Wendy's twice in the last year, and I used to eat there once a week! I have been strength training and done Warrior Dash a couple of times and plan to do it again this year.
I do get discouraged though because I feel like even when I try really hard I don't see any changes. I did before and after pics with the Jamie Eason livefit trainer which I followed for 12 weeks but pics don't show hardly any difference-see below. I wonder how strict I would have to make my diet to actually see my abs. My body fat percentage is up now too from where it was three years ago.

So to clarify- during the week you are eating 1200 PLUS your exercise calories.0 -

Yep, that's correct!0 -
I think I see the biggest difference from your middle pictures to your most recent pictures. Great job!! I am also struggling with how to get my body fat percentage down. I have really lost as much weight as I need to, but I would like to see less fat an more muscle!0 -
O.O Ohmygod!! Thats amazing!! This motivates me even more!!!!0

Did you change your diet completely? How much did you run? What exercises did you do!?!?!
I have been working out since last year on July and I can't get rid of these last few stubborn fat!0 -

No, I wouldn't say I completely changed my diet. My main focus was on portions. Where I used to go to a restaurant and eat the whole meal plus an appetizer, now I skip the appetizer and usually just eat half of my meal. I of course have tried to eat more fruits and vegetables, but if I want ice cream, I eat it. If I have to run to McDonalds, so be it. I don't have a specific workout regimen, because I can't stay consistent with it. Some weeks I do Jillian Michaels for 6 days, the next week I might go for one run and do one video. Sometimes I will go to Zumba or a muscle class. It really just depends on my schedule and how I'm feeling. I know that's not really specific, but I hope it helps!0 -
Hi,
I have the same problem where people are constantly saying how 'skinny' i am because of my skinny arms and bottom of my legs but I just wear baggy clothes to hide my stomach and thigh fat.
I've managed to get down from 128lb to 120lb just by restricting to 1200 cal a day too but i've not started exercising yet but cassondra1370 you've really inspired me as I'm quite similar to you by the looks of it
Also, even tho I've been aiming for 1200cal, I live at home and my mum always cooks her own meals so it's hard to really calculate the calories in those, but I found the easiest way to restrict the calories is to eat cereal for breakfast and lunch. It might sound boring but there's next to no calories in them (especially as i'm lactose intolerant so have soya milk with them). I've been quite bad some days as I've been getting up late and skipping breakfast and having them just for my lunch... but it's worked. Also, I've realised that if you always have big portions, cut down on them and often you won't even feel hungry. I've been having sandwiches with just one slice of bread and it's left me feeling full for hours. Then if you feel hungry, just eat some fruit as a snack. I've found that having little bits more often when your stomach starts grumbling is answering your body's natural hunger so you're just eating what you need.
I know this is slightly off topic as I don't have any photos to post yet but I thought it might help the people up there0
