I am considering getting a body media fit...I am wondering if anyone knows if it is accurate if you have PCOS? Has anyone who has PCOS used one and did they find it accurate?

I have PCOS and it is accurate but so much more goes into losing weight with PCOS especially if you have the insulin resistance to go along with it like I do. Do some research on how people with PCOS lose weight. It is good to have that information my doctor was impressed that I am always burning more than I eat, and still having a hard time with it. But it is all about finding out what works for your body. Bodymedia is an awesome tool and will help.0

I have PCOS but I feel like I have reversed many of the metabolic issues that I once had when I lost 60lbs a few years ago. I have gained about half back. I know that PCOS never goes away but some of my symptoms have disappeared as of a few years ago, especially irregular periods.
That being said, I am ready to lose again. I got the BodyMedia about a month ago and lost the first few weeks but have not seen the scale budge in the last few weeks despite a pretty consistent deficit of 1,000 calories a day.
What really helped me when I first found out I had PCOS was Jillian Michael's book "Master Your Metabolism". It's funny you posted this today because I cracked that book open again last night trying to figure out where I was going wrong. For most people a calorie deficit is enough to lose weight but if you have a metabolic condition like us you may need something in addition to the BodyMedia. I am going to try to stick with the Body Media and I think it is very worth it, if that is what you are wondering.
With PCOS myself and many others have been successful with a high protein type of diet. Maybe that is what I am resisting. The way I prefer to eat is more vegetarian and high protein is not appealing at all. It's not a way of eating I can maintain for the long term. Anyway, BodyMedia is helpful to see a calorie deficit but it's not the whole story when you have hormonal issues. The type of foods, timing of meals, and food combining are just as important.0
