Sorry guys for not updating - been organizing a large conference (planning since January and it actually on-going right now (started last Sunday and ends this Friday) and it was way more time consuming than I ever imagined. I will catchup tomorrow, packing up stuff tomorrow. We got a standing ovation at the banquet today for making the conference running so smoothly and it is making me cry now.... It was worth the hard work. I know this is off-topic but I wanted to explain my absence...
OH! and I did a grueling track workout today, 1600, 1600, 1200, 800, 400, 200, 1600 ladders at 10K race pace. It was hard, but felt GREAT! Finally back to running. I am surprised I did not feel worse.0 -

Congratulations on getting a great workout in during what is obviously a crazy time for you at work! Thanks so much for keeping track of these team challenges; I know that's a lot of work!0 -

This is pretty common. When a course is measured, they measure the shortest, most precise way around the course plus they add in distance for a margin of error. So, even if you ran perfect, precise tangents, your Garmin will likely show more than the race distance. You don't notice it much in shorter races, but you really see it in marathons. Course measurements are explained on the USATF website if you are interested.0 -

On 6/20 I had bad shin splints from wearing some cute wedges all day for an event at work, so I did a workout video. On Friday I went to run 9 miles in the morning but couldn't shake off a weak/shakey feeling even after eating a light meal pre-run. Then I got rear ended that afternoon . I had a family reunion on Saturday so I didn't have anytime to run. Got my 9 miles in today!
