Week 1 Weigh In

Hey everyone, this is the first week weigh in. i actually injured myself and haven't been doing so well, so I have no change in my weight. If anything, I probably gained 5 lbs, I'm not too worried about it, as I'd rather recover than exacerbate it :)

    I gain 2 pounds this week, any suggestions.

    It's hard to know without being able to see your food diary..

    To gain 2 pounds of actual fat, you would have had to eat a surplus of 7000 calories this week (3500 in surplus is one pound of fat). So unless you feel you ate 7000 over your normal maintenance calories, it is most likely just water weight. You could be holding onto extra water weight for a number of reasons, new exercise routine, high sodium the day before, TOM, and a whole list of other things.

    Maybe give it another week without changing anything, unless you consumed a lot of sodium. If you did, I would try to lower the sodium you consume. If nothing improves next week and you logged everything and didn't eat enough to gain, then start looking at macros (carbs, fat, proteins). I know most people say calories in vs calories out. But I have always been super sensitive to carbs. They bloat me and make me retain water weight. I still eat them, but I can't just eat 55% (MFPs suggeestion) of my daily calories from carbs or I would see a spike in the scale. So I have a more realistic macro split for me.

    I'm on vacation this week without proper access to my scale. But I have been eating healthy and not blowing it like I do every other vacation. I'll post up on next weeks weigh in.

    I had a weakness this week of stress eating. I definitely am going to focus on that this week. I am happy I didn't gain though!

    I really need to get this off my chest to people that will understand. Today a comment was made that makes me want this even more. I hate when a "friend" tells me that "you're not his type". Is that your poliet way of tellig me I'm too fat and there is no way he's be interested in me! ARGH!!!!!! Sorry, feel a little bit better.

    I am up .3 pounds.... Kind of expected it the week of mother nature visiting. Hopefully next week will be better after some bloat and water weight fall off.

    Next week I would like to weigh in at 177 point something. We will see. :)

    It's stupid things like that similar comment that make me want this even more as well. And, I'm sure your friend was just jealous... she probably likes him and doesn't want you to have him. Women are catty. Lolz.

I did go over my calories for the week, but I don't think I went over my sodium I also try to drink my 8 glasses of water a day. I try to change up my exercises, some weeks I work-out less and some weeks I work-out more. I am not sure which should I change my eating or my exercising. I know I gain and then I lose, so I am not sure if it is muscle weight or water weight or fat. I can't seem to go past 189 -190 lbs. I have been in this weight range for a few months now up and down.

    I don't think the days you went over calories did it. When you did go over, it wasn't by much and most likely didn't even really hit maintenance calories. If you have been logging 100% of everything and have been stuck for quite some time, I would suggest upping your protein and lowering you crabs and see how that works. A common macro split is 40% carbs, 30 % protein, and 30% fat. I usually keep mine somewhere close to this as well. To change this, you would have to go to change and do the custom path so that you can select the % you want for each macro.
