Symmetry Chart for Bodybuilding

This is a chart that includes "ideal" measurements for physiques most men can aspire to. It also includes "champion" measurements based on actual measurements of Mr. America winners between 1940 & 1970. Good way to see how your progress "measures" up (sorry) and to determine lagging body parts.

Sorry, ladies, I couldn't find a chart for women.

For the actual article: http://www.illpumpyouup.com/articles/symmetry-chart-for-bodybuilding.htm

From the article:
A word on how to measure:
• Measure the arms and legs tensed, or flexed.

• Measure at the largest girth, except on the thigh. The thigh should be measured midway between the outer hip bone and the knee. This takes in the hamstrings and the middle portion of the quadriceps.

• Measure the forearms with the fist bent in but the arm held straight.

• The hip should be measured at the largest circumference, which will be around the middle of the buttocks.

• Measure the chest standing straight but relaxed. Do not expand the ribcage or spread the lats.

I am currently 183 lbs, @ 70":
Neck - 16.3"
Arm - 15.8
Forearm - 12"
Waist - 32.8"
Chest - 43.5"
Hip - 38.3"
Thigh - 23.8"
Calves - 14.5" (by far, my biggest weakness)

How do you stack up?

The only thing I've found on women is that apparently a waist-to-hip ratio close to 0.7 seems to be ideal (to men of European cultures). Other cultures seem to have different preferences, with China at 0.6, and South America & Africa at 0.8-0.9.

My ratio is 7.1 then.however will likely be higher by the time I get to my goal :D and apparently my calves are the ideal size for a very tall man.17 in. Lol.

Even though I'm not a bodybuilder, I found this interesting, so thought I'd give it a go.

Nothing too suprising, my upper body isn't anyhting special, but my legs are pretty developed, which is what you'd expect from a weightlifter.

    229lbs 73 inches tall

    neck 16
    arm 16.5
    forearm 14
    waist 34
    chest 45.5
    hip 45
    thighs 28
    calf 18

Can we trade calves? Pretty please?!

    I'll trade quads instead :)

Would it be horrific if I was close to the male 62" numbers? well I am a little fat, too.

    Eta: on some.... measurements.

Looks like you'd have to have a very low bodyfat percentage too. Naturals should be able to achieve Champion status with hard work.

    Here is Jay Cutler's stats:

    Height: 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m)
    Thighs: 34 inches
    Calves: 20 inches (51 cm)
    Arms: 22.5 inches
    Waist: 34 inches (86 cm)
    Chest: 59 inches (1,500 mm)

those seem really really low, unless we're talking about being 3-4% bodyfat.
Because most guys I know with 15.5-16.5 inch arms dont even look big.

    Great info OP!

I'm 208, 76" in the middle of big cut. 3 years ago was much bigger (had an extra 5" on chest, and 3.5" on shoulders. My current stats, as a %'age of ideal:

    Chest: 85%
    Arm: 83%
    Forearm: 62%
    Hips: 101%
    Waist: 111%
    Thighs: 92%
    Calf: 94%
    Neck: 93%

Still have more cutting, but then clearly lots of room for bulk. Legs are in better shape than I thought they'd be.
