These squats REALLY hurt my knee, it seems to force me into an awkward position that put too much torque on my knee. What can I do in their place? I am on Stage 3, and always throw in regular squats/deadlifts even if the program doesn't call for them at the time...if I keep doing my regular squats can I just cut the overhead squat out completely?

I do these against a stability ball on a wall. It takes some maneuvering of the DBs but I have a lot of trouble keeping my torso from leaning too far forward so I do it this way. I *believe* this exercise is just a squat accessory exercise and there are a ton of other squat accessory exercises out there.

I also find this movement very challenging, yet when I try to think about what I think it is supposed to primarily target I can't decide. When I up the weight on this I feel it a lot in my chest - anyone else notice it in the chest?0
