Feet issues

I am currently on week 8 of c25k and have been putting bandage tape on my feet since week 2 of running because I got a skin tear on the bottom of my toe pad. I did research on it and found I should use a pedi stone after showers and put lots of good lotion on my feet before bed with white sock. I hate socks!!! I only wear them with shoes.

I got the first ones to heal but still tape my feet before I run....and have been doing good but tonight I feel like my foot is trying to tear in a different spot not taped... Ugg does anyone else have this issue???

Any suggestions on how to fix it??? I know pedi stone after showers (I plug the drain to soak my feet) but this makes my feet a little sensitive so I don't do it to often...and a lot of lotion...any suggestions on brand? I use aquafor by eucerine.

My treat to myself at 20# lost is a pedicure but I have 8 more # before that : )

I'm not much help here. I have had to sleep with lotioned socked feet before (and I don't like it either!)

I saw a few ads on TV recently for the cracking skin/foot repair lotions. I don't remember the names of them, I just remember telling my husband I needed them!

Maybe a quick trip to the local drug store and a talk with the Pharmacist will help?

Hey thanks for the suggestion. My son goes to school with a kid that's parents are both pharmastist and runners... Don't know why I didn't think of asking them. I will post their suggestions the next time I see them at church or school.

If you have a bath and body works near you. They have a really good foot and heal cream that I use. Also Burts Bees has one as well that seems to make the skin super moist and soft. Both are a tad bit greasy, but I think all of the lotions or creams meant for feet are going to be.
Just wear socks for a couple of hours after applying either and then you can go sock free again. Just remember that going without the socks is what is drying out your feet. I hate wearing socks as well but do so when I moisturize.

Are your feet sliding in your socks and/or are your shoes too big? You shouldn't have to tape your feet at all for a 30 minute run.

If you are running with cotton socks - ditch them. I had problems the first couple of weeks with them and switched to the running socks from Nike (but there are tons of other brands available too). I haven't had a single blister since then and you can hardly tell you are wearing socks.

Thanks for the help. My shoes(asics) r new and fit great and I only run in my Nike running socks... Love them but need to find more. I only put a small piece of tape on the bottom of my toe pads before running because the skin on my feet have cracked twice. They are healed now so I do it to prevent it from happening again.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and what they did to fix it. I think it is due to dry feet from gong bare foot most of the day everyday. I am a sahm so I don't wear shoes most of the time. We have light colored carpet and don't wear shoes in the house.

I use Heeltastic on my feet. It is an infomercial product, but you can get it at drugstores. It sounds stupid, but that stuff really works. I put it on a few times a week before I go to bed. In the AM, my feet are noticeably softer and smoother.
