I try to remind myself of this every day!
I'm at work and I went to the gym here and did my StrongLifts 5x5. I actually knocked it out pretty quick, and BOY am I feeling it in my quads! :noway: It's a good uncomfortable, though.

Happy Sunday all! Just checkin in, but official rest day here. I took a drive today--first time I've driven since I was in the US nearly a year ago! We went to find tomorrow's photoshoot locale. Luckily, it is only 2 towns from our beach place, so my son & I don't have to return to Athens, we'll just go straight from here. He was requested for 2 more shoots this week, but I think will only do 1, it depends what his agency decides. Either way, some of my week will be "down" due to shoots, and also packing up to head back to Athens towards the end of the week.TOM approaching too, so I don't have high expectations for fitness this particular week.
Still hanging on every word from you lifters, hoping to learn more and more about the ins & outs, so I can hopefully "dive in" to it too this Fall. First I'll have to buy some weights. Which reminds me, I had a look at my running shoes yesterday and I think I've worn them out!! I have the new pair waiting in Athens for September, but I think I'll need 'em sooner!0 -
Good Morning everyone,
I guess its been awhile since i have posted here. My bad!
I am still at it, still exercising....running, doing my Jillian Michaels workouts. I guess my struggle lately has been food. However, I have had a good last few days, so I am feeling good about that.
Tomorrow starts a long work week for me (I am only part time or casual) so I am trying to plan how to get my exercise in after work at least 3 days. The weather here has been hot and terribly muggy....when its not raining!
Today, I will either run or do the Killer Buns and Thighs workout, will decide later on.

Plan on getting a 7 mile run in before going into nightshirt tonight! First day on the supplements and I feel good. I just need to keep taking it longer than a week to see results! Make it a habit same with exercising and eating fairly healthy a habit instead of a chore. I read somewhere on MFP about concentrating on 1 bad habit and not moving forward until that bad habit is no longer in existence.
So I a, going to break the habit of quitting before I give my body time to make changes. My biggest challenge is going to stick with this 12 week running program.
Maureen: welcome back, I also went a little AWOL for a bit but I am back. It is very difficult trying to fit in exercise when you are working. Especially after work you are tired and can make so many excuses NOT to exercise but my advice is to put your running shoes on and just do it! You will fell amazing afterwards and give you the motivation to continue exercising during working days.
Sherry: Have a great rest day! Running shoes are critical when it comes to injury free running. I know it sucks that they look brand new but your body will love you if you get new shoes frequently.

Hope you have a great 7 miles today Jules. Thanks for the encouragement for the coming week. You are so right, I will feel so good knowing that I did it. I usually start the week out good, not a big problem, but then towards the end....just figure that ill pit a good run in on my day off.
For running sneakers, my faves are Asics Nimbus. Love them and can't seem to run in anything but.0 -
I stretched my muscles with yoga X DVD this morning. I did all the push-ups from the toes which is probably the reason I burned 66% more calories than when I did the WO, 4 months ago. I managed the side arm balance but still can't do crane, wheel, shoulder stand or half moon. Hence, it took 72 minutes to complete WO rather than 90. My body feels better after the WO.
Sherry, the fall will be a good time to get into strength training in TUFF. We will still have our current program, which can be started when you are ready. As well we will have a 2nd program, we are currently designing, that will have a launch date of Sept 30, 2013.0 -
Good Day Sunday Ladies...
It's another rest day for me but I will do Slim & Limber today to stretch my muscles and be ready for TUFF Week 3 on tomorrow.
Each of you are doing well recognizing the challenges of making good food choices and fitting in exercise. Where there is a will there is a way! I am glad to be a part of this group of "real" thinking people.

Well I can say that I started and finished the 7 mile run strong but I petered out during the middle a bit. But I completed it in a good time and tomorrow is a REST day thank God. Successfully completed week 2 of the training and I have 11 weeks left till the marathon.
I love Saucony shoes I find that the Asics are too fitted near my toes. I think I am also in need of new shoes URGH!

Hi everyone, I have day off from work and will swim later. Right now resting and watching movie and reading.
I have been fighting sinus stuff again so a bit extra tired and heady.
