nutritional yeast.

Does anyone use nutritional yeast? I noticed it in the health food section of the grocery and googled it and found a lot of websites saying its really good to include in diet. I googled nutritional yeast and paleo and its mostly bringing up paleo recipes that include the yeast. I really cannot find much on the benefits of adding it or if its good or bad to include but it seems that there are a lot of paleo recipes that call for it.

If it were me, I would tend to stay away from it. I'm still relatively new to this paleo lifestyle but I would think it would start to trigger cravings and defeat the grain free purpose of the lifestyle. If you don't need it, I would leave it out and concentrate more on the items you know are safe like fruits, veg and lean proteins.0

IT IS AMAZING!! Its not a grain or anything so it wouldn't induce cravings. You can easily use it for a cheese substitute. I have made cheese sauce with it or a "pasta" sauce. I was vegan for nearly 10 years before health problems led me to paleo, I used it all the time. I put it on veggies too. It is amazing! Kind of a nutty/cheesy taste and can be used as thickener for soups or sauces. It also is GREAT for you, has B12 and other nutritional value which no one can ever have enough of.0

I used to use it to make creamy or cheesy type sauces when I was a vegan. It's actually pretty good. It did not trigger cravings at all- in fact I would say it helped me to nix the dairy.0
