Hi, I lost over 200 pounds and regained 30. I really need your support and I will give you support back.
I am putting everything I eat on here. I only can eat mush food STILL. I can't eat meat, pasta, etc.
I get sick.
I was checked if I had a stricture but it was normal.
Well, I started today no more od on crackers, cheese etc.

Welcome to all! I had gastric bypass on 9/27/12, so I'm still a newbie of sorts. My top weight was 246, but I am a type I diabetic on an insulin pump and the weight kept me from being able to move and take care of myself. My kidney function was down, blood pressure up, cholesterol up, breathing was difficult, had sleep apnea, and my blood sugars were super high, as well as the amount of insulin I took daily. I have lost all my excess weight, am in the normal BMI range, but want to go a bit further. My weight keeps bouncing between 141 and 143 with no real loss in a couple of months. I started using MFP in March of 2012 and have logged in every day since. I hope and pray that the weight does not return--I know I need to stay focused on diet and exercise--and should have always been, especially as a type I diabetic who lost her mom, sister, and nearly every aunt and uncle to the disease. No more denial here. I have been very lucky with my surgery, as I have had no complications and can eat nearly anything. Hope each of you finds success with MFP. Feel free to send a friend request--I am on here every day! Ann0

Hi everyone, I'm three years post-op, new to these boards. I have lost 157 pounds, which is more than half my body weight. I have not regained any, although I stopped losing weight about a year ago. I would like to lose another 10-15 pounds.
I joined because I have not been feeling that well and wanted to track my nutrients to make sure I'm still eating to plan (i.e. protein first!). I am lucky to not have fallen back into old habits, I still cannot eat sweets or fats in large quantities. I have found giving up the alcohol to be the hardest part, although I admit to the occasional glass of wine or two.
How have the rest of you managed in your new lifestyle/body? Have any of you got surgery related health problems such as vitamin deficiencies? How are your energy levels?0 -
My surgery date was 8/1/12. I'm a year in and have lost 94 lbs. My highest weight was 272, I am currently 178. I have only lost 3 lbs in the last 90 days. My 1 year appointment is at the begining of September. I've been using this site nearly from surgery date. I find it helpful. I am concerned that I'm not progressing the way I should be. I am still BMI obese. I watch my calories and exercise at least 4 times a week for a minimum of 45 minutes each time. According to BMI I need to be 135 lbs maximum to be in normal range. At a pound a month I'll never get there. I have not expereinced any food/eating problems. Sometimes rich/sweet like ice cream will make be feel what I refer to as "sugar drunk" but otherwise i eat anything i want. My diary is open if anyone has any suggestions. I don't log regularly on weekends and I know that is a factor.
I have an appointment with the nutritionist on 8/12/13 and am really excited to talk with her about my progress and plan for the future. Will offer support and advice if wanted or needed.0 -

What type of bariatric surgery did you have?0 -
I am a newbie, having had my sleeve on 7/1/13. My highest weight was 232. My official start weight from my preop apt was 221, and I am now down to 189. My surgeon would like to see me get down to 130-135. My biggest fear (besides throwing up) is to go through all this and then a few years out to slip back into old habits of my food addiction. That is why I like these groups on MFP. We are all in different stages on our journey. We are here to get support but at the same time are helping others. There is so much to learn, no matter how long you have been traveling this road (which has no final destination). This is a place where we can be honest and vulnerable - something we may not be able to do with our families and close friends. Glad to hear all of you who have struggled are here. Sometimes we just have to go back to the basics - so I am hearing from many who have been on this journey for a long time. Draw on the positive lessons of others and you will persevere.0

Holly Penguin - Ordinarily I wouldn't comment on people's food choices, but you asked. I'm really surprised that you can eat sugar. I'm about 5 months out from gastric bypass, and I can have MAYBE two small bites of a dessert item without getting sick. I even have to limit my sugar free foods very carefully. Anyway, it looks to me that the place you can really cut calories is snacks. More fruit, less cookies and ice cream.0

Welcome! I had sleeve WLS 6/11/12. I lost 47 pounds pre op from Feb 2012 to June 11, 2012 and have since lost 99 pounds post op. I've been in maintence level since April 2013 after hitting my personal weight goal. I was as low as 124 but since uping my cals for 1490 a day and eating back some exercised calories (my WLS nut told me to do this to not loose anymore weight) my body seems to now like 132 for my weight. I go up/down 1-2 pounds daily it seems. I do weigh myself everymorning first thing to keep myself in check. As long as I don't go over 135 I will be happy with myself, I started at 270 in Feb 2012. I am 5'4".
Good luck!0 -
Welcome. I am post op 32 years, soon to be 33. Sad that we do so well and think that we have it whipped and when we let our guard down, the pounds come racing back on.
I have used this site in the past, and bypass is, its a tool. One that works if we work it.
On the first of August I made a commitment of what I call the 4 agreements.
1. I will log ALL ,my food daily
2. I will blog daily
3. I will chat with another "loser" daily
4. I will consume the requisite amounts of water.
Sooo here I am. Back again and doing well.
May you find respite at this site. Its awesome.

Holly;
What did the nutritionist say?
I noticed that you mentioned that you can eat anything. That may be the problem. I too can eat anything and when I do.. I pay for it on the scales.
After 32 years I have figured every which way to circumvent that which was of the utmost importance to me on surgery day. Let us not lose track of what we agreed to when we consented to the surgery.
It's a tool.. simply a tool that we can use as a weapon if we choose.
Interested to know how you have progressed since your last post.
