Good morning, partners! Just bumping today's thread to the top.
I have to work tonight, so I may get a run in on my break. Trying to get back into some consistency, which I find difficult at times. Don't we all?!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! TGIF! :bigsmile:0 -
Good day Friday Partners!
I couldn't find this thread earlier this morning so just waited around for it to show up...heehee.
Liz, I read your 7/25 post and saw how tired you were with the running around, yet, you still got in your weight lifting! Now, if that isn't commitment to the plan I don't know what else to call it. :flowerforyou: Have a good run today!
Fri - Yay! I am finished with Phase 1 of the TUFF 12-week program and will hit the ground with Phase 2 (weeks 5-8). I am so excited to start with doing lesser reps which means going heavier than in the first four weeks.
Week4/Day5 of TUFF Lower Body 2 completed in 51 minutes. In comparison to Week1/Day5, I am definitely stronger and saw DB size progression. Did the DB lunges 8 reps per leg and three sets each. I continued to do the DB standing Calf Raise by turning toes forward, outward, and then inward. DB sets in use: 8.75, 10, 11.25, 17.5, 27.5. I will weigh (not expecting any change) and take measurements on Sunday.
Have a great day and weekend Partners.:bigsmile:0 -
Hey all! Just realized that I never checked-in today. Oops, but I'm here now.
Today I kept my promise to my son to "stay home". We stayed home all day while DH was at work. So DH went to get my weights & bring home in a taxi, but found they were just too heavy, so he paid for them and they are holding them for us, probably til tomorrow afternoon when we retrieve the car back again. Anyway, YAY, weights!! We got a York 50kg set with bar and dumbbell handles that pack into a case. Being in a small flat with 2kids and all their toys means space is a premium. I think DH is excited about weights too.
Well, finally around 5pm this afternoon, I had to break my promise to my son in order to take my cat to the vet. He had a tooth that was coming out and had become infected. So I carried lil girl and the cat in the cat box to the vet, to the pharmacy, and back home again. WHEW-WEE! Afterwards, I decided to clear out and let the poor kitty rest peacefully (without noisy kids), so we went to the playground and to get the best gelato I've ever had (which is an awesome handmade gelato place in Plaka). I used the stroller for that walk, but tried to keep a nice pace. It is hot as blazes in Athens right now, so I'm back to sweating pretty much all the time. Yuck!
Liz, hope you got some rest. Yep, consistency has been difficult for me in the Summer. I've been trying to stay active, even if I'm not doing "real" exercise as often as I like. I expect things to settle down when school starts back again.
Pam, I was thinking of just getting my form right, etc and doing some basic lifts (like the basic 5: DL, squat, row, OHpress, benchpress) until end of September, b/c I think Donna said a new TUFF round would start then, is that right? I'm going to need to figure out some mods for some of the machine/cable moves too.0 -
An intermediate goal met. I can now dead lift half my weight.
I hope others are doing well.
Sherry you can work the original TUFF, even when the next one launches September 30. We set that one at intermediate level.
On JeFit I have a WO I called TUFF in which the exercises are all done with DBs that is based on the web sites we referenced. I have the same username there on www.jefit.com. Get a free account & friend me. See you there!0 -
Great, thank! I'll find my way onto jefit as soon as I can (gotta go get those weights first---should happen today, yay!)0
