Great job! I am planning to do this on Saturday. A little nervous about it too! Did you slow down your normal speed to complete it or had the training prepared you to run as you had on the previous days?

My normal run is slow lol.

I tried to do this 3 times before and i couldn't jog a full min and always quit. This time i am doing the insanity program with it and i believe it really helped me with endurance. Today i got up did a warm up and stretch and off i went. I walked the 5 min jogged the 20min. After this i still have 1.5 miles to go to get home and in this time i only walked for a 1 1/2 songs the rest was jogging... I am supper proud of myself and still can't stop smiling

General fitness, especially a strong core, helps with running sooo much! Good for you for getting through the run (+ some) and Great Job for not giving up. You are *such* a winner!

Amazing job! I found that was the hardest day in the whole program.

Great job! It's intimidating at first, but now that it's behind you, you'll feel awesome!

Me too! Once you do that one, you know you can do the rest. Good job!

Yeah! Good for you! The next run will feel soooo easy! I just finished Week 6 and did a 22 minute run on Tuesday, which was challenging but I finished.

To anyone nervous about W5D3 - that's OK. I was super freaked out. I ended up doing the run outside in horrible weather (high 80's, VERY humid) because the air conditioning at my gym was out. The key is to go at a comfortable pace and no matter how you're feeling or what you're thinking, if you just keep putting one foot in front of the other you'll make it. :-)

I agree! Week 6 was easier in comparison.

I am set to do this tomorrow, but I haven't looked ahead at the actual times so I don't freak myself out ... now I am scared :ohwell: I have been running on a treamill at the gym because it has been so hot/humid when I have gone, and I was going to make myself run outdoors tomorrow regardless ... perhaps I will repeat day 2:blushing:

Congrats on your success ... I know it feels great!

I did this run on Saturday and it was not as bad as I expected! I did have the feeling afterwards that maybe I could be a runner after all! Two things that helped me in case someone else is in the same fearful state that I was--

    1) Slow down. I decided to take my speed down a half mile per hour. It was more important for me to be able to run 20 minutes straight than to run quickly and be miserable the whole time.
    2) Don't look at the time. I was on the treadmill watching a show and I made myself not look down until after the 2nd commercial break. I had run 19 minutes (I would have guessed 15 minutes) and since I was mentally prepared to run 5 more minutes before looking at my time, I kept running to 24 minutes.
