I've got toddler duty and lots of errands today. It feels like a scorcher today, so not sure if I can wear my lil girl or not. Either way I'll get some walking and then see how the afternoon goes. Still my "off season" til September anyway. -_-

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning everyone!

Well I didn't wake up to rain, but I did wake up to fog and drizzle. I am getting SO tired of this weather! We have had a very damp summer here in NS, when we are fortunate enough to get the sun...it is beautiful and HOT, but there hasn't been enough of those days. It gets depressing!!

Yesterday I got a 7Km run in, quite happy with that. My legs were feeling somewhat heavy as I had done a fairly hard bike ride the night before with dh. He says he is going out for an easy ride and I can barely keep up. lol Oh well....keeps me hoppin'! Not sure what I will do today, hopefully run, if it doesn't rain. If it rains I will probably do a Jillian Michaels workout.

Weird overcast here too after a bunch of hot days. Finally going back to nia class, then work then watching final dress rehearsal for Foot Loose, one of our plays.

So another busy day, just happy to be healthy again. Not taking any chances still doing natural stuff for sinus daily.

I warmed up with bodyweight exercises squats & lunges, then moved into TUFF Phase 2 Lower Body 1 workout.

I moved up in weights for most exercises. I used 40 DBs for both squats & dead lift. The Dead lift almost seemed too easy with stopping at 8 reps. (Now that dead lifting half my weight has been accomplished, the next intermediate goal of lifting all of it should be possible.) Hamstring curls, on the other hand, appear to be a weak area for me. I waited until my heart rate went down before starting the each set. After the exercises, I finished with stretches before stopping my heart rate monitor.

Maria, I am glad to hear you are on the mend.

Maureli, I admire your ability to do running. Running is not my thing. It could be my short legs with being 5' 2".

Sherry, today's saying is so true.

SL5x5 around noon today, Whew, talk about HOT! No breeze, even with both garage doors open. The window unit we have laying around is starting to look like it would be perfect in the garage window.

Sherry - I meant to mention that I've found a new favorite food in plain Greek yogurt topped with honey and cinnamon.

Pam - I've also picked up a favorite food in cottage cheese, but in a more savory use.

Now, I'm thinking I need a sweet snack topped with carob chips (new find for me!).

Maureen, hope you get some really pleasant weather soon. I complain about the heat in Athens, but if I have to be honest, it is rainy weather that'd really bother me. I tend to get the blues in the Athens Winter, because it is the rainy season.

Marla, I was wondering about your Nia. Hope you enjoyed it and glad your are enjoying good health again.

Donna, I like getting a glimpse into your contemplations with the weights. It helps me to understand what I have ahead of me. I signed up for Jefit today and got (somewhat) acclimated to it. I also talked to DH about the mat situation at home. And he and I are going to work together with the weights in August, when he gets off work.

Liz, I'm feeling ya re: the heat! ugh, heat wave in Athens too. Oh yeah, I was watching a vid of Mehdi doing his SL5x5 workout. I had originally thought I'd do SL5x5, but I'm going to go with TUFF for now and see about SL5x5 later when I start feeling more confident with big barbells n'stuff, lol. ;-) (or when I can afford/find space for a bench/rack, etc) As for the Greek yogurt: oh.em.gee! I can't live without the stuff! I recently did the unthinkable and switched from the full fat to the 2%, not b/c I'm afraid of fat, but b/c it's lower calorie, which means I can eat it more times per day!! I've even run calculations for making it, but found that buying it is just cheaper/easier/better here, since milk is fairly expensive but yogurt is fairly cheap and plentiful. But if I could find a farmer to deliver the big huge clay pots of it to me...he'd be like a drug dealer to me!! hahaha!!

    See ya tomorrow!

Sherry. Glad to hear that. If you have a mobile device download the JeFit app to it. I use the app on my iPad then sync it with the web site. Otherwise you can log directly onto the web site. I have posted instructions within TUFF group.

I have now accepted your friend request on JeFit. Please download TUFF routine, which I shared, to your page. You can then adjust it to the equipment you have. BTW, a Swiss ball is handy for many exercises. I use Bow flex SelectTech dumbbells for the workouts. There are other adjustable dumbbells out there too. Just a idea for you to consider.
