John 7:45-53
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
53 And every man went unto his own house.

Today, I learned _____________________________________and apply it to my life

PRAYER: Dear God, Guards went to the leaders of the Jews to ask if Jesus was real, because his words held so much authority. The leaders denied them, but Nicodemus—the Pharisee who came to Jesus and recognized his Godliness—spoke up in his defense. Help us to be bold, like Nicodemus and the guards, in our faith and in our resolve to be healthy representatives of you. Amen

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today? Today it is getting much harder for those not strongly rooted in God to admit they are a believer. It seems easier to go along with everyone else. Nicodemus was saying do any of the leaders believe in Him?

Today, I learned that I must hold steadfast to my faith and never to deny God!

    1. The Pharisees Jesus questioned and believed he was deceiving them.

    2. Nicodemus asked if the law condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing.

    3. The Pharisees then started to question Nicodemus for defending Jesus.

    INTERPRETATION:

There are so many people today who have strayed away from Jesus whether it be this generation or the generations before them. This is making it hard to turn people away from what they believe and believe in Jesus!!

Take a moment and write down three observations of the verses. What strikes you? An observation is an observable fact from the Word.

    1. No one ever spoke the way Jesus spoke

    2. Nicodemus was among the Pharisees

    3. The Chief Priests and Pharisees said that no prophet comes from Galilee

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?

It seems to me the chief priests and Pharisees had already hardened their hearts toward Jesus and therefore no matter what anyone else told them regarding their personal experience with Jesus they would not hear it. They would instead make accusations of the person being deceived if they spoke positively about Jesus.

Today, I learned _some people's minds are already made up before they ever encounter the facts of a situation, especially concerning Jesus. I must not allow those who refuse Jesus to sway my direction in life just because they are determined that I am wrong, naive or deceived_and apply it to my life
