John 8:21-30
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.

John 8:12-20
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
OBSERVE:
Take a moment and write down three observations of the verses. What strikes you? An observation is an observable fact from the Word.
1. Jesus is the light of the world and those that walk with him are not in darkness
2. Jesus bears witness of what is true
3. If people know Jess, they will know the Father. If they know the Father, they would know Jesus.
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
Jesus is the light of the world--and he shines the light on our lives. Light gives clarity. Light makes it easier to understand. When Jesus confronted the Pharisees, they questioned who his Father was, but Jesus turned it back on them. They should know if they read the Old Testament--the books of the Law and Prophets, they would know the Father and recognize who Jesus is.
It reminded me of seeing a young kid and saying, "You are the spitting image of your mom." If I know the mom I can recognize the kid. If we know the Father, we can recognize Jesus is speaking the truth.
APPLY
Today, I learned to trust Jesus' word and let his light shine on my life, that I can reflect his truth in my life.
PRAYER: Dear God, Jesus said that if we knew the Father, we would be able to recognize him. The Pharisees that studied the Old Testament should have recognized him. Nicodemus did. Help me in my studies that I might recognize you, your voice in my head that I might shine in my neighborhood and work or school that your Name may be glorified. Amen0 -
Sorry, my friends.
I write these Bible studies in Word and then cut and paste here. I have had several blue screen moments in the last week. I didn't realize that the original didn't save properly. I opened the file and cut and pasted. I saw this morning that it saved the old lesson.
I apologize. I've since updated it to the newer version.
Please forgive.

OBSERVE:

1. Jesus tells them he is going away and you they can't come because they will die in your sin. ”
2. He told them that they would die in their sins if they do not believe that Jesus is Christ.
3. They did not understand.
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
Jesus has gone to be with His Father and any sinners who do not believe in Him will not go, because they will die for their sins. So get to know Christ, since every thing speaks is just what the Father has taught Him.

1. the Jews wondered if he would kill himself because of what he said to them...
2. Jesus spoke as the Father taught Him...
3. Jesus always did the things that please the Father...
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
Sometimes when the truth is right in front of us we don't recognize it and often are even looking for it while it is right under our noses... Once we recognize the truth then we are never alone and should always strive to do those things which please God.

Today, I learned _Jesus always did what the Father wanted of Him, even when it caused others who didn't recognize who He was, to criticize and harm Him, and that I too should put the will of God before my own fleshly goals_ and apply it to my life
