Hi everyone,
I always have trouble figuring out my Activity Level, so maybe you guys can help me with that.
I do heavy lifting (StrongLifts 5x5) 3 times a week and sometimes some cardio (walking/cycling).
So the big question: Am I Lightly or Moderately Active.
Thanks in advance!

In addition to the above, sorry Sara and I haven't had a chance to get back to the PM's you sent on this.
The overall point I was going to get at with my questions to you in our PM exchange was that you should be using your current intake as a variable (and a more important variable) when determining what intake changes, if any, to make when switching from the MFP method to a TDEE method.
Here is an example: Suppose you were averaging 1600 calories per day and losing .5lb/week using the MFP method. This is an average gross intake. If you switch to a TDEE method and some calculator online tells you to eat 2100 calories per day, this would be a bad idea. In this example you would likely gain weight using this approach.
People often make the mistake of assuming that "hey this calculator says that I should eat this much" when reality and their results tell them something significantly different.
And lastly and equally important, you need to be looking at the results of your eating and making adjustments to it from there. So whether or not you were to select moderately active, lightly active, sedentary, or "I'm a marathon runner" as your activity level when choosing what to set your intake to, being attentive about the results in ANY of those scenarios should lead you to approximately the proper intake through those adjustments.
So ultimately, I would pick whatever activity level brings you nearest your current average intake and START at that point. Adjust it from there.0 -
