Good day everyone! A new week and a new start!

For me it was TUFF Week6/Day1, Upper Body 1 completed this morning within 36 mins. I performed a total of 5 exercises, 3 x 6-8 with a 45-60 second rest period between sets. Focus was on chest, shoulders, tricep, bicep. Used a multiple range of dumbbells and by the last set of each exercise I was at 13.75, 20, 25, 30 pound. It became very evident during the bench press and shoulder press that my left arm is the weakest of the two. I am feeling the burn right at this moment…no delay in it…lol. I drank a chocolate whey protein shake mixed with half water and unsweetened almond milk before, during and after session.

How's everyone doing? Make it a great day!

Pam, sounds like a perfect workout. You must be pleased.

Well, in line with vacation time, I had an unscheduled lazy day today. Finally made it to the park with my son, for a couple mile walk roundtrip, but that's it. Today, at DH's "last day of work", he managed to drum up some much needed business and will have to go back tomorrow. Maybe he'll make some business tomorrow too. :) Anyway, I think I'm going to have to stop waiting on him to start using our new weights. Also I've been totally preocccupied by some dental issues and I'm afraid of how bad its gonna be, and can't get appt til Aug 20th (grant me strength.!)

Anyway, have a GREAT START OF THE WEEK!!!

Pamela what great progress you are making. Sherry I love today's saying.

This morning I did recovery cardio using a step up of 13" at a slow pace for 20 minutes to get the blood to my muscles. My research tells me this will help.

    Thanks you two.

Donna, you have such interesting variety with your daily workouts. I usually do a warmup & cooldown by combining a few moves from CLX & P90X.

Sherry, that is really good news about your DH getting some unexpected business at the time he is to start "vacation". You are probably right to go ahead and start using those weights instead of waiting on him. Tomorrow, something else could turn up and he is unable to start with you.

    You ladies are STRONG!

Liz, I sure hope that your sister takes your advice. Do you know that I was diagnosed with early stages of osteoporosis near the lower pelvic area a few years ago (prior to exercising and especially strength training)? Just last November it was non-existent!! I give major props to the strength training. Pass this info on to your sister if you like.

You are lifting heavy for sure. Do you workout at home or at the gym? Forgive me if you told us this already.

I will mention your success with lifting to my sister!

I workout at home. Lucky enough to have an Olympic bench that I share with my hubby. It was purchased for him, but I think I'm getting plenty of use out of it too!

I was weak today. I ate what was left of the chocolate cake - about 1/3 of 9x13 pan. Anyhoo, I did an hour of running/walking this evening, for a total of about 4.62 mi. With the extra calories burned, I only went over my goal by about 100 cal. I've been really slacking in the kitchen. BTW, the starts were beautiful tonight while I was out.
