hello..I just purchased CLX..I'll be 16 weeks into turbo fire..havent really seen any results...I was planning on maybe adding some CLX in the last 4 weeks of turbo fire..and then do the hybrid...but I'm curious what others use for weights..I've read some posts about it..and I dont know what to buy..I'm looking at one but for the pair it only goes up to 25 and I've read where most go past that....but the 50lb ones are a little pricey..and i dont know if i can stomach 150 bucks in weights..plus the shipping...(gotta love living in a very small state)

During the Burn Phase the heaviest weight that Chalene seems to use is 25lbs. I don't know about other phases yet.

the one set of adjustable weights i was looking at (the 25lb) its only 12.5 per dumbbell...

i guess from searching i'm afraid of getting this set..then two weeks later...it'll be like lifting a feather..i've already been doing band work from turbo fire..

could you get some used ones? I agree, 12.5lbs per each will be too light for some exercises very soon.

12.5 per dumbell is going to be VERY light VERY quickly.

In the push phase i was using 30lb per dumbell and could have gone more really (i'm getting some extra plates for my dumbells so next time round I'll get up to 50 or 60lbs hopefully).

I'm in the 3rd week of push and will probably go up to 25 pounds on a few of the exercises on Circuit 3 this week.

I started out with singular dumbbells in 8, 10 & 12 pounds. That got me through Burn just fine. For Push, I got a set of Weider adjustable dumbbells that go up to 25 pounds each. I bought them from Kohl's with the 30% off coupon. If you have a Kohl's card, that 30% off is really nice! I think it was around $125 total, and that included a $10 shipping surcharge on each dumbbell. (I don't think you can buy them in stores) They're not as awesome as the SelecTechs, but they get the job done for a lot less $$.

I don't anticipate going above the 25 pounds on this round of CLX, personally. Not sure about the Lean phase, but if we're back to failure at 10-12 reps again for that month, I don't think I'll be able to do that with 25 pounds just yet.

We were struggling about finding weights heavy enough for my husband and how much money we were able to spend. I found an extra heavy resistance band (at Target) that is more than enough resistance for him for now ( he can choke up on it ifhe needs to). It was about $15. This might be an option for you, or at least get you through until you get more weights.

I was using resistance bands but, found I was not getting proper form no matter how much I tried. I moved on to 5 & 8 lbs dumbbells & quickly discovered I needed to go heavy. I am currently on week 2 of the Burn phase. I just bite the bullet & purchased the Bowflex Tech-select adjustable set. They range from 5 lbs to 52.5lbs each. I worked with them yesterday & truly felt I got an effective workout. During my Burn circuit 2 session- my weights varied from 10-12.5 -17.5 lbs. I must admit they are pricey at about $300 but, after one day's use I am already feeling it was a worthwhile investment plus its a space saver with its all in one bracket.

yup in PUSH you will go heavy. 30 1bs was about the heaviest I got to. Burn and Lean you will be lighter but PUSH is heavy and only 6-8 reps. Enjoy. It's AWESOME!
