A Little Discouraged

Good morning, everyone.
So I'm on week 4 of BR and I'm pretty pumped that I've stayed with it so far. But here's the thing - I went to a registered dietician the other day and was weighed. I have been deliberately not weighing myself, because that's usually what discourages me. Lo and behold, I've gained between 5 and 9 pounds (I know some of it was water because I had just finished a bottle of water).
I decided not to let it get to me. So this morning, I measured myself, thinking, there must be some difference there, then. I compared to measurements from the end of May, before I was doing the program. And they're essentially the same!
I know my eating sometimes throws me off a bit, but I'm seeing the dietician, like I said, and she instructed me to aim for between 1500-1700 cals a day. I'm doing that now, but I guess I just need to hear some sort of encouragement that sticking with the program is worth it, and that just because I haven't seen much changing, that that will come...
Has anyone experienced that, or have some words of advice?
Thanks!

Hi. I am currently on my second round of JMBR. The first time I did it, the scale didn't change and neither did my measurements. However, that was due to my poor eating. I was binge eating a lot at the time. That being said, after I finished the program, I was in the best shape of my life. I could do all the moves with no modifications and with heavier weights than when I started. I felt a lot better about myself too.
I would suggest you hang in there and follow what your dietitan says. Even if your results aren't life changing, you will notice how much more physically fit you are. Best of luck. :flowerforyou:0 -
i agree my weight goes up and down but i've noticed i lost some inches. i'm just finishing week 2 of phase 2 so i'm half way. it gets harder but its worth it. i've never been able to stick with her other dvds0

Yeah my progress is slow going too...so far I've lost a lot around my chest area..but mostly everything stayed them same...I'm in the middle of week 9...and lost 6 pounds...I'm thinking in phase 3 to hopefully see some inches come off..I also changed my diet to 1200 calories a day to see if I get any results..(not eating back)0

Thanks everybody - that's just what I needed to hear!0

I know exactly what you are going through. I am in week 10 of the program and have only lost about 4 pounds. SO frustrating! I can see the changes in my body but it isn't as dramatic as I expected it to be. That number is so important (even though it shouldn't be). Just stick with it, you will start to feel so much stronger and firmer. Good luck!0

Stick with it! Think of how strong you are becoming. Think of how much better you probably feel! I'm in week 5 and like you, no changes. It's frustrating! But, I'm feeling better, sleeping through the night and not as crabby as I was before I started this program. I was hoping that by now I'd be down about 10 pounds and the scale hasn't budged one pound, but that's not the case. In fact, I've gained inches in my thighs! Oh well - at least I'm doing it and I really do feel much better than I did before starting.
Keep going!0 -
Keep going. My scale is being a royal B*tch since the beginning of May, but since I started JMBR in the middle of June, I have gone down in clothing sizes and have lost inches. Tomorrow is the last day of Phase 2 for me so I will be taking my second set of progress pictures and measurements. Even if I don't see that big of a difference, I KNOW I'm getting stronger and I feel amazing. Stick with it. The feeling of accomplishment of knowing that you didn't quit will be amazing.0
