Got something you think is under appreciated. Share it here, and check out other suggestions. Avoid weekly top 20's songs or recent Grammy Winners. Be tasteful with comments. Although I can't stand Beiber, anyone who listens to him is free their opinion. Not a competition of who has better taste just suggested listening.
My hidden gem I discovered on an NPR radio show called all music considered
Group is called Lost in Trees
The singer's mom after suffering from extreme bipolar disorder committed suicide and the last album is a ode to her life. So it is light, happy, melodic, and full of love, yet covered in a film of sadness. If you have a day you need to let the sad out it is a beautiful album to release to.
The album name is: A church that fits our need
Probably my favorite itunes purchase of 2012
NPR performance

Music video to Red

Last but not least: Golden Eyelids

This track by Ronald Jenkees: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRnZtn1a9bM&list=PL02665296194941CF
What's more under-appreciated, however, is the live version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg8LfoyDFUM - he sits down, says, "Hello YouTubes!" and...well.0 -

Good song not normally something I would of checked out, which is the purpose of this thread, thanks for the suggestion. That would make a good treadmill song.0 -

I love this track as both chillout and inspiration. They say many a true word is spoken in jest and I think this is one of those gems.

Something completely different?
I love ancient music, and (as I'm Flemish?) am very fond of the flemish polyphonists of the 15th century.
On of the songs I love the best is 'La Déploration sur la Mort d'Ockegem' (also called 'Nymphes des Bois') by Josquin des Prez
A good recording is ]this one on YouTube by the Laudantes Consort:: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlpyCoXFh_U0 -
On a blues kick, listening to Buddy Guy. If you like Stevie Ray Vaugne and don't know who Buddy Guy is than check him out. Vaugne got his sound and many of his songs from Buddy Guy0

Remember the movie Ferris Bullers Day Off? Well a band was created from this movie...Save Ferris. Monique Powell is the female vocalist, and the entire band consists of horns...Love horns. Their debut CD was It Means Everything. "Come on Eileen" & "Spam" were among my favorites on this CD.0
