Yesterday was my first day following the Primal principals for weight loss and general health. I have to say I felt fantastic last night! The milk products will be a challenge and the bread always is (I have been working on eating 'clean' for the past few months so I have eliminated breads and refined sugars for the most part, although crunchy little things seem to find their way to my mouth now and again!) It will take a while for the "eating fat" aspect of it to coalesce and make sense in my brain, but it does all make sense.
I am interested in what others set for their card/protein/fat ratios. Mine are currently Carb 20% (80g), protein 30% (120g) and fat 50%(89 g) at 1,600 cals a day. I have a tough time meeting my protein numbers without going off the charts with calories. Are there simple ways to do this, such as eating whole eggs instead of whites?
Thanks!

Hi there! I'm a little over 2 weeks in and loving it. I read a few websites and message boards and settled on setting mine at 15% carbs, 65% fat and 20% protein. That seemed to be the average setting from all the sources I checked. My calorie goal is also 1600, but I used a FitBit, so I usually am allowed more.
I'm eating lots of eggs, nuts, beef jerky and have meat usually all three meals. I'm trying to limit the dairy, but I'll have greek yogurt a few times a week too. There have been several days that I haven't been very close to 1600, but I rarely go over. You can look at my dairy if you want - I can't remember my setting - might be friends only. So friend me if you want to.
Good luck!!0 -
Welcome!!!
I have my macros set at 15c/20p/65f and my calories are at 2200 (It usually averages around 2000). I don't worry to much about hitting my macros perfectly, but I do try to hit or maybe get as close as I can to my fat % though. And I never ever only just eat egg whites.......bleh
If ya need some food for thought you can always check out my food diary as well as many of the other members diary's.
