DHEA, etc.

Finally made it into an MD at a Wellness Center. She went over so much and has started me on Estrogen Creme, Progesterone Pills, and 5mg. of DHEA. Anyone else getting treating for their adrenals? My blood work was scary. Seems I am very low on everything! Looking forward to seeing an improvement! Any advice since I am a newbie?????? Hugs:flowerforyou:

Mine mentioned DHEA as something for me to look into. She mentioned a few other herbs etc. as well.
What progesterone pill? Prometrium? Little round pink pill?

fwiw: I'm on estriol (estrogen) cream, and progesterone cream.
  • DHEA tricky look into KETO 7 without all the adverse hormone effects. I started on DHEA until I read up on it and just chose it wasn't for me.
  • The initial treatment is pricey to see the specialist. I have not got the meds. yet, they are being shipped to me so I will keep you posted. How did the DHEA affect you? I am doing only 10mg. daily so far until blood testing. Hugs everyone!!!

Hello! After finding out last year that I had very low progesterone and testosterone, I was put on a simple regimen of progesterone (compound) cream (by prescription) and DHEA supplement (OTC). I found in the beginning, it seemed to do very little to help my fatigue and overall listlessness, weight issues, etc. Then during a check up, my GYN asked me how my diet and exercise was going. I failed to follow her SPECIFIC directions that included a strict adherence to diet and fitness lifestyle change. I was guilty and my rationale seemed legit-- I AM TOO TIRED BC OF THE HORMONE DEARTH. :\ But, I took my verbal lashing and dragged my body out for a simple brisk walk every few days and cut out fatty foods and white starches (all the normal yummy but bad for you stuff). I cannot tell you how CRITICAL that this is to the success of the hormone replacement. I have so much energy and dropped the extra weight. And my skin is RADIANT!!! :)

Also, just out of a tip from a friend with similar background, I dropped my multi-vitamin and take only B-12. I am not sure, but I am happy and energetic and feel like I did in my early 30s.

The progesterone cream is a simple cream that is specifically mixed for you. Mine comes in little syringes and I simply apply it to the "thin skin" of my body (I choose the insides of my forearms, like perfume). I do this and take the DHEA pill right before bed. It makes you drowsy, strangely.

    Good luck, sweetie!! :)

I use the progesterone at bedtime as well, and yes, it does make me sleepy too!
