30 Day Shred - is it supposed to be every day??

I just started 30 DS yesterday. After it was done, I thought "Huh, that wasn't so bad". Fast forward to 18 hours later and I can barely walk or raise my arms over my head!!
My question is - are we supposed to do the workout every day? When I've done workout routines before, I've always been told that your muscles need a day of rest in between working them again. What's everyone else's take on this?
Thanks for the help!

Hiya, we'll done on starting! I think you're supposed to do it on consecutive days if possible! it certainly seems peopll get better results by doing this? I did L1 D1 yesterday and it was hard but i felt fine after! but i woke this morning and my chest is really painful- my arm and thighs are quite sore too! but i battled on and I've just done L1 D2 and the work out was still hard- I was a little less breathless with cardio, think the side lunge arm raise thing was way harder though! Apparently day 5/6 should be a breakthrough in terms of less muscle pains med stiffness- fingers crossed!
How are you getting on? Xx0 -
My kids actually cracked my DVD, so I only got to day 4, level 1
Went and bought a replacement DVD of 30DS, and started again today (I was away on vacation last week). Hoping I'm not as sore tomorrow as I was after the first time I did it, but found it rough this morning. I hear ya about the side lunge, arm raise!! I can't finish those - after about a dozen, I raise one arm at a time. Guess it's something to work on!
Are you planning on doing 10 days on each level? Have you noticed a difference? Great work on doing it again the next day even though you were sore!0 -
I did each level for 10 days each> im on level 3 day 1 right now.0

I think Jillian recommends you do it at least 6 days a week with a rest day. The rest days can be just as important to losing weight and building muscle as the exercise days. Thats when your body really repairs itself and fixes you up from the exercise the day before! For me when I did 30 DS I just tried to do it every day and took a rest day when I just really couldnt find the opportunity to work out that day due to whatever was going on in my life. On average it worked out to every 6 days, just by chance, although sometimes it was 2 exercise days, 1 rest day, back to 6 days, rest day, maybe 8 days then a rest... it was random. I tried to push through the days when my muscles were sore, maybe it wouldve been better to rest, but Im too tempted to keep going!0
