Hey,

If we have any questions, comments or concerns we can post them here, hopefully someone will have an answer, a suggestion or would be willing to look up some additional information for others.

Let's do this together :)

    Hi All,

I have a questions - I plan on doing some other type of workout as well. On a day that I go for a run instead of the video, does that still count as a day in the 30....or only every time you do the video? So, if I run every other day will the 30 day really be 60 days?

    Help please :)

@Zamba - it depends on what you are looking for really. I would suggest that you do the other exercise in conjunction with the 30DS so long as you are not feeling overworked. The video is relatively short so it could act as a boost to your regular routine.

I have been looking at various posts and many people incorporate the 30DS into their running routine for that added *umph* and improved results. I think it is an excellent idea and so long as nothing is TOO much, you can combine all sorts of routines with the 30DS.

If you do want to substitute than I would make it a 60DS LoL - build up the strength in your workouts progressively.

In my opinion, running doesn't count as a 30DS day, because you aren't doing the 30DS. For me, I'm doing it in addition to my regular Kundalini yoga practice, so it still a 30DS day, I'm just doing both in one day.

Question??? Trying to figure out how many calories are actually being burned with 30 day shred. I have tried the formula, but I don't think that it is right.

I use a HRM but when I go to the exercise database and click on "Circuit Training, general" and put in 25 mins (including warm up and cool down) it gives me about the same amount of calories burned. So thats what I would do if I were you.

@gwen - it is difficult to determine how many calories are burned, t depends greatly on the amount the participant exerts, how much they weight and their starting fitness level. The most accurate way to determine how many calories you burn would be to wear a HRM... aside from that, there is the calculation, using a standard Circuit Training count (populated by MFP) or estimating based on your previous exercises.

    Hope that helps

I agree that running does not count as a 30DS day..for the same reason basically. I do the 30DS 5 days a week and jog 3-5 days as well.

Thanks for the input ladies, I think it's time to invest in a HRM. I want to know to the T how many calories I'm burning! Good luck to you all!!

Is anyone else still sore after day 3? I wasn't this sore last time I did 30DS after 3 days, I must have been super lazy! :)

Day 2 was my sorest so far - day three I tried to really focus on getting in good reps as opposed to speedy ones, I think it made a huge difference (focusing on getting in 10-20 solid reps in a 30 second span as opposed to 20-30).

    BRING ON DAY 4!

I'm doing c25k in conjunction with 30ds, and I also take off Saturday/Sunday because I do other workouts those days. I only count the days I do 30DS as doing the shred. I do my run in the morning and Shred in the afternoon. Hope that helps.

Oh, and I created an exercise for logging called 30DS. I'm not sure where I got it from (its been awhile!) but I'll have to go compare it to circuit training.

GOOD morning ladies (and gents if there are any in the group )

Jen - I have heard awesome things about the c25k program, how is it going for you? Seeing some awesome results?

I pumped out the L1D5 this morning, after spending nearly 45 minutes carrying around my little guy trying to get him to nap. My arms are killing me but I feel great - might take a nice walk to Tim Hortons with the dog and my handsome little man (who is in his "big boy" stroller already at 3.5 months!!! He loves sitting and facing the world!)

    Bring it this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
