Alright, I need to lose at least 10 pounds this month to make it under my first major goal of getting OUT of the 300 pounds range, I will be in the 200's for the first time in 20 years when I do, Who wants to post here for 30 days and see how much we can LOSE together, WHO's With ME!!

I kinda cheated yesterday so I'd love to start over haha. In my 2 weeks of induction I went from 141lbs to 136 lbs. Goal weight is 120lbs. Lets do this!0

Me! Definitely! Let's do this! I'm on day 5 & have lost 4lbs so far, I would LOVE to lose 10lbs this month. What's the deal with posting? Do we check in daily/as much as possible to spur ourselves/each other on?0

This is my first short term goal, so I'm in!
10 pounds. There's a party this month so I'm already finding alternative food that I may enjoy...there's going to be a lot of parties for the rest of my life so I may as well build up a favorite party plate list and get used to doing things this way. My plan is for the rest of my life.0 -

I'm in. I had lost 53 pounds during the previous year. My husband is very ill and was placed on Hospice services about six weeks ago. I've stopped focusing on taking care of me and have started eating everything in site. I've regained 15 pounds in just those six weeks. I need to get back to taking care of myself! I have rededucated to the process of doing that today! This challenge comes at the perfect time.0

Liongoddess, 6 years ago I was where you are. My husband had end stage renal failure and PVD and was very, very ill for 6 years. Hospice was a god send. Like you, I gave up on taking care of myself and focused on him - and gained 40 pounds. It's hard, but try to focus on yourself a little bit. We're here to give you support.0

I'm in!!! I've been wanting to lose weight for a while and now that I'm in college I really want to start losing weight instead of adding on more lbs with all the food, alcohol, etc. I have about 40 pounds to lose (or more) and I'm SO ready to start!!0

Daily checkins on this post certainly are not required, one of us tends to say something here often so it tends to stay near the top of the atkins boards, just check in when you feel like it, post your joys, your goals your weight loss along the way if you feel, I know in my heart this is the month I get below 300 for the first time in 20 years, i can hardly wait, just need to let the Induction work its magic0

I'm in! I want to get 10 pounds off for September, like alot of other posters here. Here's to sticking to extended induction, getting in every workout, drinking lots of water, and getting back on the scale on October 1st.0

I'm totally in, I'm also doing JM's 30 day shred. After 2 months travelling and then surgery I need to get my mojo back. 30kgs down, 19kg to go. Hopefully the next 2 weeks of phase 1 will go smoothly.

day 3 of induction is going well for me, going to stay on induction for the whole month of september, feeling good about things today, with around 10 pounds to make it under 300 , I feel this is the month, its been a process , but a good one, i cant wait to be a 3x again, no more spending boat loads of money on those old 5 x shirts ugh,, lol, its so good to have everyone here for this!!0

I'm in. I keep fluctuating between 69 and 70. Would like to see 66.9 (or below!). So three kilos...(6-ish pounds) seems achievable. Aim high, right.0

I'm also in. It's my 11th day on Atkins. At the beginning ( first 7 days) I was losing weight so quickly like 0.8 kg a day ( 1.8 ibs ) and even though I knew its a lot I was so happy and motivated not to cheat and keep myself in ketosis. Then it stopped so I started working out to boost my metabolism, I started eating more fat but there is either no loss at all or 0.2 kg (0.4 ibs) a day.0

.4 lbs per day is really nice, that would ad up to over 3 lbs per week, and thats really great on atkins, remember everyone we all stale and have platues, i sat on a stall for almost 3 weeks last month, only to end up losing 6 lbs, unfortunatly there is no magic bullet to getting weight off, what ever path you chose will take time and lots of it, thats why eating this way has to be a life change and commitment , ( take a few meals off here and there, holiday special occasion or once a week maybe) , other wise you will be right back where you were, and then some, so hang in there, and keep going!0

My average is 750 kcal a day . For the past 5 days I have eaten less than 5 grams of carbs per day. I feel fine, not dizzy or anything, I'm on holidays so I stay at home all day. I workout every second day ( weights+ cardio) . Do I eat too little ? Am I not losing weight because my body is in starvation mode?0

I'm not a doctor, but I work for many. I just asked the one who's my boss, and he says that "(Hypothetically), While everyone's physiology is different, 750 is most likely too few to be healthy, and a stall due to starvation is quite likely."
However, if you're doing Atkins the focus should really be on your carbs, and not your calories. Five grams per day sounds like not enough salad vegetables. During induction you should be closer to 18-20 grams of carbs per day. But for goodness' sake, make sure you're eating your three cups of veggies a day and drinking enough water. And please, please, please never forget a good daily multivitamin / multi-mineral.
This is just my personal opinion, but I would increase the calories to at least 1000-1200 (healthy fats and protein), and increase the cardio workouts to five times per week, even if it's just 30-45 of power walking on those "extra days".

Yes, I am drinking plenty of water and taking a multivitamin. I know that 750 sounds very low but the thing is that I feel well. Maybe its because I spend all day at home thus I dont have much activity this week. Nevertheless, I finished my day today with 1030 kcal ( 11 g of carbs ) I want to see if it will boost my metabolism a little0

Look if your in a stall or plateau , do the atkins FAT FAST many of us use the FAT FAST to get the scale moving downward, it works every time, many of us in the KETO group use the fat fast to break stalls, I was on a plateau for 3 weeks in august and used the fat fast to break it, lost 6 pounds in 4 days on it, works everytime, in the keto group there are many posts on the FAT fast, check it out0

Another thing to remember, if you have never read the Atkins book, i recomend you do so, he says on induction to NOT count calories, you need to allow yourself to EAT on atkins, enjoy the foods that are allowed, a BIG STEAK!!! EGGS!!! and more,, only count your carbs, ,, counting carbs and calories is WORK!! work that doenst need to be done, the beauty of atkins the NOT being hungry, its being satisfied and losing weight,,
