Confession

Hello all you pretty ladies,

Things have been going great for me. I have managed to loose weight and keep it off, but must confess that I haven't been doing the 17 Day Diet probably for the last week. It has become such a burden for me. I was so positive and eager to start and things went really really well. But, I cannot see myself do this for weeks and weeks on end. And the best advice I got from someone was to do things to loose weight, that you know you will be able to continue with well after reaching goal. for example if you know you are not going to be exercising 3 times a week forever, don't even start, because though you will loose weight faster, once you stop, you will gain back all that weight in double time. Soooooo, sorry all you wonderful people here, I must leave this group. It does not feel right to stay on here, while I know full well I am not doing the plan. I am still going to stay on the group "50lbs before NYE" and I am still logging and going strong.

Please do not unfriend me. And lets keep motivating each other to reach all our individual goals. This journey never ends. I am here till then end.

Good luck to each and everyone of you. I am thinking of you all.

Hi Slim. Not every plan is for everyone. We need to find what works for us individually in order to continue our journey of successfully losing weight and then keeping it off. I think most of us have been down the path of losing and gaining back and I think that's due to unrealistic plans or moving forward wtih something that isn't maintainable because it doesn't fit. Good advice from your friend.

As for the 17 day diet, I understand completely how you feel....I've been feeling the same myself. I was doing really good, and feeling good about this plan, but then it just got very hard to get excited about it anymore. Unfortunatley, I can't see myself doing this for long periods of time either. I think I need more variety. I completed cycle 1 with some success but have not started cycle 2 and will most likely not. I feel that I have learned a lot through the first cycle and have gathered a few awesome recipes that I wil continue to use in the future.

I am still committed to losing 50 by NYE but have gotten off track on logging (not doing bad on eating, just not logging). So, first, get myself straight on logging and then continue moving forward. I hope to stay friends with everyone as we work towards our NYE goals! Continued luck to all!

    Thanks Newstar :blushing:
:blushing: I am also still going very strong. I am going to start a 90 day challenge on the 1st of Sep. I am going on a cruise the 2nd of Dec so want to put all in until then. Basically my challenge will just add some exercise, because I am not active at all right now. Eating is great. I am very motivated! A friend of mine just lost 28KG in 3 months with Atkins. Though she is very inspiring, I know I cant do Atkins. It is just way to restrictive for me and I end up binging and yo-yo dieting.
    Good Luck!!

Thank you Jen. I am super motivated to get to my goals. The 17 day diet was not for me...I tried it and failed miserably! As they say it is not about the number of times you fall, it is about the number of times you get up again!
See you on the 90 day challenge.....I have so sych myself up so much for the exercise.... But I will do it and I will enjoy it...eventually lol!

Hi slim, you mustn't feel bad about dropping off the 17DD! I have also struggled at sticking to it 100%. Some days were better than others, but I still lost weight because I exercise 3-5 days a week, so I really do feel great.

I also found the 17DD too restrictive for me too, and I had the odd drop of alcohol or rice or potato in cycle 1, because I was starting to feel very ill on it, especially when doing such intensive exercise.

I will still stay on here to spur on and support the people that are on here, even if I don't stick to it 100%.

I will join you on the 90 challenge to NYE, but I don't think that I will lose 50lb by then, but will probably aim for 25lb instead which is more realistic for me. I will also join you on the 5:2 plan too.

I'll keep encouraging you and the others on here, so don't worry about that. i would never ever unfriend you as it's not in my nature.

Thank you very much Cal. I really do appreciate your kind words. I am also here for all of you and we will take this thing one day at a time. See you on all the challenges. It keeps me motivated and breaks my journey up nicely between different challenges. Probably after the "90 day challenge" i will have a "don't gain 10lbs over Christmas" challenge lol.

Again, thanks to all of your support and love.

Slim, I love your idea of don't gain 10 lbs over Christmas, that's brilliant. Christmas is the worst time of year for me, as i tend to sloth and stuff myself silly with lots of bad food and alcohol! :-(
