I'm working on increasing my physical activity for the moth. Spent 2.5 hrs gardening (had been putting off weeding along the back property line - borders onto a green belt). Weeds are as tall as I am.... Hot day and I'm pooped but feeling like I've accomplished a lot. Still have the last third left. Tomorrow's project.0

I love the idea to not weigh in until the end of the month! Then you won't focus on water weight fluctuations and you will have a big noticeable difference at the end!0
-
Sept 1 complete. I only did 20 minutes instead of 30 of circuit training/weight work but I upped the intensity. Just had my ONLY after supper snack of a frozen cherry/milk smoothie and I feel fine!
I hope you all had a great day 1, too!0 -

Thanx, all. I'm astounded at how hard it has been to stay off the scale today. I've never been great at "delayed gratification" (perhaps why I can't leave a sleeve of crackers unfinished?) so trying to save the scale and tape until the end of the month is a real change for me. Breaking the habits of a lifetime. Sheesh. It's hard. But as Tom Hanks said to Gina Davis in a League of Their Own, if it wasn't hard, everybody would do it.0
-
I decided this morning that I was blowing the importance of what the scale would tell me on the 30th out of proportion in my head so I decided to go back to daily weighing. But the new eating/exercise pattern is working great!
I hope you all are having a fine time with your Sept Fresh Start!0 -
Why not weigh in once a week? It's not as hard as only weighing in twice this month but it will also show you bigger results when you do weigh in0

Weight is falling away. I within 1/2 a pound of a month or so ago, before I fell back into bad LNS habits. The rule of nothing but fruit or liquids after supper seems to be one I can keep and stay within daily calories. I didn't do "real" excercise yesterday -- just a bit more activity than usual -- so today it's back to formal exercise.0

Daily weighing first thing in the morning really does remind me daily what I am doing so I think it's okay I've fallen back into it. But thanx for the suggestion.0 -
Weight up a little this morning but I know it's water, etc. I can feel it. I've stuck to my plan and last night had a big beet/blueberry smoothie that kept me full all evening. As soon as my brain said "late night snacking alert" I went downstairs to bed. (Oh, our house is set in a hillside and upside down -- bedrooms downstairs, living room upstairs.) Today the plan is to mix walking with Walmart purchases. I will start by walking ALL the aisles before I fill up the cart.0

I daily weigh so that I can get a understand of how much water weight vs real weight I carry. I understand that the scale can move a little here or there through out the week so I do take any gain with a grain of salt. I'm already starting to see patterns in my weight when it comes to my salt and water intake!0 -

I wished I read your update earlier. I was just at Walmart and never thought about walking All the aisles. That's a great idea especially since the temperature was 100 degrees today.:glasses:0 -
Had a great Walmart walk yesterday. I still haven't walked all the aisles of that Walmart -- it's a biggie -- but yesterday I did about 2/3 of them. Probably back to recumbent bike/weights circuit today. I don't actually HAVE a recumbent bike. I have an old Tunturi exercycle from the early 1980s. I sit on the day bed leaning back against pillows with the bike on the floor in front of me. My wrists and back won't take using the bike while sitting upright so this pseudo-recumbent bike is a good alternative.0

Yesterday, I fell back into bad habits. No exercise and post supper bread and butter. Sigh. No no no!! Not again today or tomorrow or ... Stop. Sigh. Today it's back to remembering about the 4 parts of the allegorical stomach. 2 for food, 1 for liquid and 1 for air instead of stuff all four with food. I feel so much better when I remember. This is for me. For feeling better for 24 hours a day. Not for savoring 15 minutes of excess bread and butter only to feel lousy for 23 3/4 hours! Lousy. Physically lousy. Stuffy, logy, puffy, lousy. Between a carb-y pasta supper and a ton of bread and butter I feel lousy. I must remember this feeling and eschew the bread and butter to save me from this feeling!!!0

Hi I with you there on the bread and butter, I used to make lunch while eating bread and butter then have my sandwich. So in total I could of had 5 piece's of bread.shocking I do like carbs.0

Eating is back in line. Now, if only exercise regime were. But sinuses are not happy so I'm sitting this dance out. As a T-shirt I have says, "Carpe Manana"0
-
Poundage on its way down. Tee hee0
-
Not feeling so well so haven't done any exercise for two days :sad:0
-
Like you, JCS, I'm still off the exercise routine but at least keeping steady with the food. We can do this!0
-
This time of year kicks the sinuses in full drip! Hope you feel better soon!0

Falling back into old LNS/no-exercise habits. Forgetting the ancient Indian (Asian Indian that is) idea of the 4-stomachs: 2 for food, 1 for liquid, the last for wind. I'm filling the last with food instead of wind. Snacking replacing exercise. And I feel logy like one who has taken a lovely airly quarter of themselves and filled it with heavy, leaden food.
Must remember tonight that to feel better tomorrow I must fill the fourth stomach with wind not peanut butter!0 -
I am in the same boat- even down to the detail of peanut butter! Let's remember that this is our fresh start month! I think I need a visual reminder on my bathroom mirror that I can see every morning when I wake up...0
