Just Been Diagnosed

Hi all,
Have just been diagnosed (about 2 months ago) with Hypothyroidism and while I'm delighted that there's a reason behind my lack of weight loss and general ill-feeling, I am totally lost about where to start and what to do about it personally!!
The hormones have made me feel slightly better but seems to come in waves of highs and lows. Managed to eat well (fewer cals) for about the first five weeks but this week have started to binge again and am seeing the signs of fatigue coming back.
Any kindred spirits out there? Any advice? Many thanks ;-)

I was just diagnosed as hypothryroid as well (after a routine blood test). I gained 30 pounds in the last 2 years and have always lost weight very, very slowly. However, looking back on how tired and exhausted I've been for years, it makes sense that I have low thyroid.
I just found a good website: http://thyroid.about.com/
It's by Mary Shomon and she really is an expert on thyroid disorders.
It's too soon for me to tell if my thyroid meds are helping. I'm guessing the doctor will make me get tested about every month or two until he feels that my TSH levels are correct. I hate blood tests and needles but I guess I gotta do it.

I've just been recently diagnosed as well, about a month ago. Looking back, I'm pretty sure I've had symptoms since my early teens. I have Hashimoto's but I'd have never found out if I'd not done the antibody test privately. Some really good resources are - stopthethyroidmadness.com and tpauk.com.
