Well dang, I thought we had a "goal" thread???

Anyways.... I've come up with some new goals for myself! As I'm nearing the end of my journey as a "shredder" I thought, dang.. shouldn't I reward myself for this?? Uh, yes! Yes I should! So in honor of completing the shred I will be getting myself a fitbit flex and fitted running shoes! How's that to get my rear in gear? Pretty excited, time to start counting down those days. Still going to do 15 days of it so I've got a bit. I imagine I'll make it by the end of the month or so.

Nice! I'm curious to see what you have to say about the Flex! Sound like fun rewards to me!!

I'm pretty excited, the flex looks a great addition to my workout gear. I'd love to know how much I burn just from being a mom and running around all the time
  • It's a great idea to plan a reward! It pushes you through the tough days. :) I just got a Flex about a month ago and I LOVE it. It's not the greatest for the circuit with weights workouts or yoga, but awesome for logging cardio workouts and running/walking. But, you can enter the other activities manually, so that's a plus! Between that and having it synced to MFP, I get a better picture of my day.

And, yes, it's awesome to see how many steps and how much you burn just through normal activities. I find the best thing it does, for me, is get me to move more throughout my day. If I see I have a low step count, I'll go for a walk or something. I'm more active with it than without it.

One note...I found that after a really vigorous cardio session, with a lot of jumping around, it doesn't sync...says can't find tracker. It logs the session, you just can't seem to get it to sync. Put it in the charger, and use a pin to hit the reset button and it'll sync up. I think the bouncing around may be messing it up. Only does it for JMBR cardio for some reason! LOL
  • Its great that you are going to reward yourself like that but I was advised not to get the "Fitbit Flex" as it counts your arm movements I was advised if I get a Fitbit to get the "Fitbit One"

Hmm, well I mostly want to get it to keep me going. Like if I see I'm only a few hundred steps away from a goal, I might take the kids out to the park or such. I also want to really see what kind of exercise I get just from day to day life, like laundry and running all over my house. As far as calories go for workouts, I plan to get a heart rate monitor. Thanks for the warning though. I worry I'd wash the Fitbit one, or lose it since it only attaches to your clothes... I don't know. I suppose I need to do some research ;)
