Protein Powders

Any of you ladies use protein powder? My current says on the label "Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women". Alternatives, please!

I use MRM whey in rich vanilla. It is all natural and has stevia in it for sweetener. I ordered it off of Bodybuilding.com. It is not my favorite because I dislike the taste of stevia but it is all natural so I put up with it. Mixed in things, it is fine. I don't think I could drink it alone though. It does work in cooking really well and in my am coffee. I also have chocolate Spirutein that I got at a health food store. It's not bad but not as good as ON or other traditional powders that I am avoiding while PG. My main concern is to avoid all the chemicals and artificial sweetners. If you are just looking for a protein source, liquid egg whites that are pasturized can be added to smoothies and do not have to be heated. Fage plain yogurt has a ton of protein in it too.

If all else fails, ask your doctor. I think they throw that warning on a lot of them because they are not going to do testing on PG women.....kind of a CYA statement.

I steer clear of the processed powders, but have made some of my own at home with cottage cheese, pb and hemp/chia/flax seeds. Very filling and high in protien!

Thank you! I have a dairy allergy (that I'm not good at following, BTW) so I probably wouldn't use cottage cheese. Does ice cream work? Only kidding.

Duh, of course ice cream helps!!

Whole Foods or other natural food stores sell hemp and other trypes of all natural protien powders. They don't taste great, but I think they would be ok with the right mix ins and they don't have any additives or artifical sweeteners.

Thanks! Doesn't look like the website sells it online though and no where near me sells it. Looks good though!
