HI all!
This group looks so great and so supportive. I started exercising about 3 years ago and cal restricting with little benefit like most of you. I am a major over eater and thus, every low cal diet I tried, I failed. and thus felt like a failure!
This lifestyle just makes so much sense!. I am worried though because I read all of you talking about having such a hard time getting to your TDEE but I could easily eat that in a day and more sometimes! Does this mean that this program is not good choice for me?
I know I need to make better food choices which I am working on and that will definitely help me meet my goals.
I just started reading the New Rules of Lifting for Women as I started lifting about 6 wks ago and I LOVE it!'
Just looking for support, I guess, and some new friend for accountability!
Thanks for listening!

I can only speak for myself. I'm sure one of the "pros" will come in with advice.
In my experience, my body responds better when feed it good, healthy foods. It would be easy to reach TDEE if I was eating high fat, high calorie foods, but that's what got me to 381 lbs. Now that I'm lifting, I NEED to make healthy choices about food, so I can feed my body what it needs to keep functioning under the conditions I'm requiring of it. I guess it's all a matter of doing what is necessary to get what you want. I find it a little difficult to eat enough to reach TDEE, because 90% of what I eat is "healthy". I have to put thought and planning into it. But my body responds in positive ways, so it's what I will do.
Good luck to you.0 -

Eating at a reasonable sustainable deficit to minimize muscle mass loss and only lose body fat would be the best choice for everyone.
In fact getting to eat more may help with your planning and binges. Eating the same daily lets you prepare better too.0 -

Today is my 2nd day.....feeling hopeful!0
