Your first 3 days will be the hardest until your body can establish ketosis.

After that, keep your exercise low-key, especially for the first month or more - you'll find yourself out of breath anyways.
(google "neoglucogenesis" to discover how intense exercise can affect your muscles adversely when you're in ketosis.)

Welcome to the group AND to Low Carbing!!! I, myself have been attempting to revert back to "normal" eating the past 2-3 months after I moved from MS to TX and started a new job. Everything has been so hectic it was just easier I "Thought" to eat "normal" for a while. Thought it would kick start me back up. Well.............I have gone back to eating junk and my portions are getting out of control and not only have I NOT lost. I have gained about 7 lbs!!!!! Today makes it back to LC for ME TOO!!

I agree with the others, the first 3 days will be the hardest. Just hang in there. Find proteins that you like and eat small meals throughout the day. Eat lots of non-starchy veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, salad, green peppers, cukes, etc.

Later this evening when I have more time, I will be sharing a list of awesome LC/keto websites and will post some of my go-to yum-o LC recipes!

ketosis is awesome that way...week 1 is a landslide!!
After that, average weight loss falls to about 2-2.5lb/wk for women and 3-4/week for men.
And if you want a structured program, I have had very good experience with Ideal Protein. (Not meant to be a marketing plug, it just works very well for me!)

Request/suggestion for the moderator - Since this group (in it's description is primarily recipe-sharing) can we look at doing up a new topic for each category of food? I posted a vegetable recipe today. I could see that if we did a new thread for every recipe, it could get massive and hard to find what we're looking for, but I found your huge list of snacks also a bit onerous to scroll through. Even if we titled them "Snacks - Meat" ; "Snacks - Veggies"; "Salads"; "Hot Veggie dishes" etc, it could be easier to navigate.

I think that is a great idea cindirookbanm! I know, lists can get tedious! I am not trying to control this room unless people make comments dogging LC/keto!! Go ahead and post what you feel is good! We will add to it! Or, at least I will!!

Ideal Protein - a ketosis based weight-loss program. Protocol perscribes 3 pre-packaged "meals" each day, client provides additional salad and/or veggies for lunch and eats store-bought protein and more salad/veggies at dinner.

Thing I like - maintenance involves a gradual re-introduction to carbohydrates, unlike some other programs which want you to buy their products or vitamins for the rest of your life. Truth is, unless I significantly increase my exercise levels (which I'm working on) I will always have to be conscious of choosing low GI foods such as whole-grains etc.

And my dad goes to a clinic each week to be weighed, to get his food and to make sure he's not having any problems or anything. He says hes felt better than he's ever felt in his life. If there was a term for ADHD when he was a child he would have been diagnosed with it! Lol!!! He never slept and was constantly fidgety. Well since he has been on Ideal Protein and eliminate his dairy products he say he sleeps at night, something he's never done. So for him its a lifestyle change that he should have made 50+ years ago. Its really worked well for him.
