Hi everyone,
So, I bought several hundred grams of chia seeds yesterday. I bought them to sprinkle on my porridge (oatmeal).
Does anyone know of any great other uses/recipes for chia seeds?
Thanks
Ben

Thank you, Alan.
I am not a fan of bananas. Though I am sure one of our other "Team Vegan" members will love it.

I add them to my oatmeal, both stove top and overnight oats. I also use them when I make smoothies.0

Thanks Bobby Daniel.
Adding chia to oatmeal is how I am currently using them. Its still too cold down here to have a smoothie for breakfast but I might try that in Summer.0 -

Hello,
So chia seeds mush be high in protein? Are they tasty? I just started low carb veganism today:) I am making a vegi lasagna today with zucchini, onions, mushrooms and marinara sauce. I just might try chia seeds now. Probably wonderful sprinkled on my strawberries and almond milk for breakfast. Sounds yummy.0 -
They are high in phyto-nutrients and antioxidants..0

You can also put them in water or other beverages.

I'll toss them into my water bottle on occasion. Keep some dental floss on hand though!0 -
I use them in cakes, slices and muffins to give moisture where once that would have been provided by fat (it works too)
...or try them soaked in coconut milk with your fav fruit for a yummy dessert....or use them to thicken a smoothie.
The possibilities are limited only by your imagination0 -
I love them as chia pudding with berries for breakfasts, I use this recipe:

The basic proportions is 3 T of chia to 1 cup of soy milk.
I recently used them in this tahini sauce, which thickened nicely!

Thanks Jsl, Litoria and HurricaneLand!

My pleasure, Kitsune!
Please feel free to send me a friend request - should you wish.
I adopted a wholefoods plant-based diet about eight or nine weeks ago after a 25 year break.
I've found it very easy and the health benefits are incredible.
