Today is day 50 of Insanity for me. I am on my last two weeks. I am really going to try to step it up and make my last two weeks count. This morning I have more energy than I have had the past few weeks. I am hoping the energy stays. I had a member ask me if they can post daily here. You can post daily if you want. If anyone wants more motivation and support feel free to join my Facebook Group. The link is below if you are interested. Keep up the great job everyone.

Week 5: Insanity - Cardio Core and Balance week. One day down, 5 to go!

How soon after the workout should I be switching off my HRM? I ask because at the end of each session, my heart rate is still up and am still sweating. Does it matter? I don't want to be too obsessive about it, but I wait an extra minute. What do people recommend?

    Power 90 and doing great.

EniBee I normally go an extra minute or two after my workout since my heart rate is way up. Sometimes I will go longer if I am cooling down using my own exercises after the DVD workout is done.

It really does not matter but is just a personal preference. Either way you are burning the calories when your heart rate is still up. You would not be cheating yourself. Keep up the awesome job.

Tony Horton 10 minute trainers are still my in thing. I will be doing T25 and P90X3 in the future once my free time is more manageable. Currently I only have 30 to 40 minutes to spare and the 10 minute trainers work out great.

Keep up the great job everyone.

Enibee I agree that it is a personal preference. I usually start my timer 1 to 2 minutes after I begin working out then keep it going 1 to 2 minutes after my workout. Awesome job on week 5 Insanity.

I'm on Insanity, Week 9, Day 2. I was sooooo excited about Insanity most of the time, but these last 2 weeks are awful. I feel like my body is just done. I have no appetite anymore, so I'm just eating whatever and trying to be healthy about it. I'm not as able to keep up with the dvds as I was a few weeks back - as soon as I start warming up, it's like my whole body rebels... It's not just muscle fatigue, but my asthma has started kicking up and random things - tonight during the side-to-side hops in the warmup my PALMS were hurting. I kept thinking I've been in plank position so much of course they hurt, but really, it seems like insanity is a week too long! I've got 4 workouts left and then the final fit test, so I'm determined to finish, but I'm sad that I lost that eager energy I had a couple weeks ago!

Anyone else go through this? Any suggestions?

    Hi Jessa.

It sounds like you are getting burned out or maybe have some type of flu bug for not having as much energy. Month 2 is very intense. I had a combo of things when I was feeling like that before. Make sure you are getting enough protein and getting enough sleep. You definitely need at least 7 to 8 of sleep a night or you will burn out. I just got over the flu bug this week. The past 10 days I was not myself and did not have much energy.

Are you getting protein and food back in your body after each workout? That also is very important. Your body needs it.

    Hello Jessa,

As Becky says protein is very important to get back in your body after each workout. I try to always eat a preworkout snack or meal depending on what time of day I am working out. If a snack then I have a protein snack about an hour before a workout, If a meal then about 2 hours before the workout. On days that I forget to snack or meal before I workout I tend to have less energy and motivation. After each workout you should get protein back in your body within an hour.

Sleep is very important. I noticed on days when I was only getting less than 7 hours of sleep I would have not as much energy and lacked motivation. When I eat a preworkout snack and get my 7 or more hours of sleep a night I crush every Insanity workout.

If you feel you are getting burned out then listen to your body. Rest when needed. I have been having a lot of pains when working out too. I have been seeing a doctor the past month trying to find out what is going on with me. I have been eating great and have days where I have no energy at all. The pains I have is not from exercise. The past few days have been much better for me than the past month. I may have sleep apnea. I see a sleep specialist doctor next month. I also will be getting tested for fibromyalgia for my joint and muscle pains.

Maybe you are having a slight case of the flu. There are a lot of different flu types going around right now where I live. One is causing headaches/body aches and lack of energy. Some have been experimenting nausea with it and others not.

I hope you find out what is causing your energy loss. You have done an awesome job. Way to go on only having a few workouts left.

I agree with Becky.... increase your protein, water and sleep. Listen to your body if you have to take some days off to rest then do that. Remember they are DVDs not class you are going to; you can always pick up where you left off. I to deal with asthma and during the hot summer days and if I was out during the day in the heat and humidity, I would take one puff of my maintenance inhaler before I work out. I normally take that inhaler before going to bed but I simply moved up the time so I can workout. My doc OK'd it.

My first week of P90X/Insanity Hybrid program is coming to an end. So far, I'm really enjoying it. It's a nice mix with both programs together!

Oh, and Jessa: I agree with everyone else's suggestions on Insanity. Listen to your body. You may just need to take a few days off, to help your body recover. We all have different limits. I have an autoimmune disease, and I had to take a few days off while I was doing Insanity, because I was getting too much inflammation. It's okay to do it at your own pace. That's the beauty of having the DVD's in our homes. Be sure you're hydrating a lot & increase your protein. Pineapple and turmeric are also very helpful for inflammatory problems. Take care of yourself. Don't press on beyond your limits. Your body will tell you what to do...listen. Rest.

Wow! Having read all your advise to Jessa, i am getting cold feet re: month 2 which I hope to start on Monday. I have watched the video through and what struck me was that it was 1 hour long AND looked intense!! I already feel that I may struggle because I don't get more than 5hours sleep a night. Although during my first week of insanity there was a day that I spent most of the day in bed to recover. Now that my body is used to month one, don't a know how it will cope with month two. So far so good, no injuries in month one.

Jessa, please heed every bodies wise advice and listen and look after your body. Last day of recovery week is tomorrow...yeah!
