Rut Oh...it's that accountability time again.

    TUFFer Phase 1 (week 1-4)

We all have a stronger and a weaker side. This phase will focus on using a single dumbbell to strengthen each side of the body to create a balanced symmetry. I will do strength training M-W-F and HIIT (high intensity interval training) cardio on T-TH for the next four weeks.

It should be clear to me by now, that although I just luuurve to "make plans", they DON'T always come together. When I planned to start TUFF, I had thought that my lil girl would be in school, but that's a no-go. Then, I thought at least my son would be in school full-time...well, he's finally full-time 80% of the time according to this week's schedule...oh, except for that holiday they snuck in on Thursday. lol. Anyway, I'm just going to have to make it work. I owe it to myself.

So, October's plan is to do the first 4 weeks of TUFF, to continue running 3-4 times per week while trying to run longer & longer distances working towards a 10mile goal by December. I'm going to leave it at that. I'd like to do some HIIT sessions, and do some sprints, and do an occasional hill run, and buy a bicycle, start a martial art, try stand-up paddle boarding & sea kayaking, and a million other things  ...but REALISTICALLY, I think that getting through the first third of TUFF and running regularly along with my regular active lifestyle of walking places, etc, will be a recipe for a successful month.

    Mid-month check in!!

So far, so good on TUFF. I get behind towards the end of the week and then catch up in the beginning of the next. I guess that's just my program. Running comes & goes according to what's happening at the moment, but is still a priority and happening regularly. Scheduling has been difficult, but so far it's only been my housework that's suffered--but I may have to pay that piper soon.

I'm feeling pretty good about October. I had a nice little "whoosh" over the weekend, despite having a cold which caused me to eat like crazy and move like a slug. Unfortunately the "whoosh" was only weight that I'd gained in August while on break. But that's okay. I feel like my belly looks a little flatter this week.
