Anyone else have a schedule like this one?

I know there are different schedules out there for this program, but mine seems a little different. It starts with 5 minutes warm up, 5 minute cool down at the end of walking, and in between is just jogging - no intervals, just jogging. W1D1 it had me do 2 minutes of jogging. I'm at the end of week 3, and I'm now up to 9 minutes of jogging in between. I'm curious if anyone else has done it this way. I will say I am not working on speed at all (throughout all three weeks I've maintained a steady 4mph for the jogging), but endurance, so I really like this. I've never been a runner/jogger/speedwalker ever in my life, and I am amazing myself because four weeks ago I definitely could not have jogged for such a length of time! But if anyone else has done it this way, what are your thoughts? Any pros/cons you've found to it?

Also I know my 4mph is a little on the slow side, but I rock it ;-). I'll work on speed later as the endurance builds, but as long as I keep jogging that speed, it is burning ;-)

It is just another version of a beginner's running program. If it is working then stick with it. The only downside I could see of that would be getting wrapped around the idea that walking is bad, when it isn't. It is typical to think this when begining. I thought this way for a bit after learning to run.

In the end you should be adding about 10% total. So your weekly running is 27 minutes, you should be adding only 2-3 minutes the next time you increase. Then 3, then 3, then 3-4 etc.... Just keep with the 10% rule and you will be golden.

I wouldn't worry about speed one bit. Right now, it's just about building up the time you spend on your feet.
