Bulletproof Coffee

So I'm doing my own version of bulletproof coffee, I do not have the bulletproof coffee beans. I use 1 tbsp kerrygold butter, 1tbsp coconut oil, 1 tbsp MCT oil, I'm still hungry after I drink this. I've heard people say that are full until lunch. Is it because of the coffee beans I'm using or what?

I don't use the BP coffee either, just tea, butter & coconut oil 50/50. I usually drink it with or after breakfast....so idk if the bp coffee makes much of a difference. I feel full but I'll usually snack on something mid-way to lunch.0

Probably not enough fat. The original recipe calls for no less than 4 tablespoons total of fats, and as much as nearly half a cup. You're currently only at three tablespoons. Try experimenting, such as adding another tablespoon of butter, or using all MCT oil instead of MCT oil and coconut oil (or vice versa).
Alternatively, you could try one of the many variants out there. Mark Sisson created a variant he calls "Primal Egg Coffee" http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-egg-coffee . It's defining difference is the addition of a couple of eggs/egg yolks, which add some protein. It will, however, have a slightly different effect on the body, due to the protein, of course, but it might be worth a try.
The idea for both of these is that it is the meal, so don't be afraid to push its calorie count upwards to 400 or 500.0 -
My BPC is around 300 calories.
I don't really have the hunger issue that you mention. I wonder if this has an impact. Usually, I sip my BPC all morning. I get to work at 8 am, and don't usually finish it until lunchtime.
People are different. You just might need some additional food. Maybe it depends too on what you ate the day before, and how late the last meal of the prior day was?0 -

If I have a midmorning snack, its often out of habit moreso than an actual need to eat.0 -

I am still struggling with hunger. I find that I go hungry more often then not. To be honest I never have the full feeling. I'm just trying to figure out if it's true hunger and not that I am just thirsty or wanting to eat out of habit. I tried my coffee this morning with more butter and I still did not feel full. That was 547 calories. By 11am I was starving (I drank the coffee at 7:30am)0 -

Perhaps, then, your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs? Not just calories, but micronutrients, as well. Hunger is the body's signal that something is missing. It might be worth taking a look at what you're eating, and making sure you're getting enough vitamins and minerals.0 -
I have two cups of coffee with 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp whipping cream and 2 tbsp coconut oil. I follow that up with a cup of broth about an hour later otherwise I get a little nauseas. I'm good to go till 1 or 2.0

So, some of the benefits that Dave Asprey talks about concerning BPC are:
It makes for the creamiest, most satisfying cup of coffee you’ve ever had.
It will keep you satisfied with level energy for 6 hours if you need it.
Because I’m having it for breakfast, I’m programming my body to burn fat for energy all day long!
Boundless energy and focus.
All of these are direct quotes from the guy who invented it.
So here's the deal. You aren't experiencing one of the benefits. You are a special snowflake. You aren't doing it wrong, it's just that for some reason your system is operating differently. Maybe your system is looking at volume of food to feel "full". Hard to say. You have to decide for yourself if the other benefits are worth it. if so, keep drinking it. If not, try something else for breakfast.0 -

Aww...a special snowflake. LOL I do not get the energy burst from this drink either and I do not think it's creamy but rather all oily. This morning I just had a cup of coffee with heavy cream and I felt satisfied until almost noon. Go figure!0 -

Don't worry Nicole, I find a cup of coffee with cream to be plenty satisfying. I can't seem to put butter into my cup. I may try it soon, though, because I cannot get organic cream, only organic butter, and I really want to start using more organic.0
