I had 123 carbs today and only 61 grams of protein! I usually eat more protein than that on a regular day... Tomorrow will be better! Also have been struck with a spliting headache & bad lower backache... is this normal??

You weren't that far off your protein. As for the headache, how much water did you drink? Some people do experience withdrawal from carbs/processed foods.

My water intake was down today. Usually drink 3-4 liters, only had 2. I'm shooting for, basically, my numbers to be reversed, 125 protein & around 75 carbs.

I struggled with Paleo until I got my water intake right.

They recommend 40ml per kg of body weight. So I weight 77kg - therefore I have to drink 3080 litres a day.

Was so hard at first, but once my body because used to it....it needs it! I crave water sometimes!

And paleo is so much easier now!

    Keep at it!

There's no magic to determining water intake. Pay attention to your body, drink when thirsty. I probably don't drink 8 cups of water and there's no reason I need to if my body doesn't need it.

As for carbs, if you keep craving them, you might need to consider lowering them for awhile. Our body doesn't like being cut back on sugar so sometimes the only way to kill the cravings is to starve them for awhile. 123 grams is likely less than you were consuming before and your body is letting you know that it's not impressed.

Also, my protein is only about 80 grams. I do best with a high fat, moderate protein, low carb Paleo eating plan.
  • might not be a bad idea to adjust your settings on mfp as they are still reading high carb, low fat, etc.
and as for the headaches/back aches etc..this is VERY common and called carb flu but it will pass eventually..some people feel it for 2 weeks or more and for some it's less.
it will get easier though and you will feel AMAZING!
