good morning!
Well, 6K run is done. Was hoping to feel a bit better, my legs were indeed heavy from last nights strength workout I think. But, I am ok with that, I know that overall I will be stronger and just probably need a rest day - which will be tomorrow. I will quite likely miss my strength class tomorrow night (will be picking up my son in university) but hope for a good run on Friday.
Going to pick up a few groceries this afternoon, does anyone else here love grocery shopping, or am I the only odd ball? lol
Laura - I am still trying to figure out how not to hate my treadmill....lol Good for you getting in an early morning run before work..I tend to run after work (I am casual at work...so don't work all the time) and seems to much easier to just put it off at the end of the day. Sounds like you burned a lot of calories yesterday!
Sherry - sounds like you are busy as ever....but you are still getting some exercise in, that's great. Nothing wrong with 17 minutes of running...certainly better than none! Keep on keepin' on! (hehe)
Pam - nice on the outdoor walk, just makes you feel good to be outdoors when its nice. Kitty is pretty good. He needs to take some pills for a week and then see. Hopefully all will be well, I don't think its anything serious.
Donna - enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend with hubby. We will be having 2 meals (arf!!) so I will try to hold it together as best I can and maybe try to get a longer run in. Turkey Dinner is my favorite!!
Marla - oh....umbrella in the sun, grapes, warm California...sounds so delightful!! lol It is cooling off over here in NS. Glad that you got your kitty back inside!
Well, I am off to make lunch and then go to pick up some groceries for the weekend. (hopefully there will be some left by then...if hubby doesn't eat them all!)0 -
Maureen that's great you finished the run. BTW, I use recorded TV shows with Treadmill so I am not bored. Today Agents of SHIELD. Also, that why I am usually alternating with another exercise because that when I am fast forwarding through the commercials. I also love grocery shopping. It is an outing with DH to find the best food possible and get deals on it. We use coupons and save points to get great stuff from the rewards book. We like turkey especially free range so we get extra.
Today was TUFFer Phase 1 strength circuit then it was treadmill walking with arms making arcs in the air alternating with push press.
It is getting colder here though not like the rest of Canada. As soon as it starts to freeze at night I will put the de-icer back into the bird waterer so the backyard birds will have the all important water.
Well I have to get a move on to check those bird feeders and the peanut holder. I got to keep my bird and squirrel families with lots of food to feed their families.0 -
Just another drive-by posting for me. Still busy all the time. Today, about the same walking as yesterday w/ "fake school" and tutor, etc Except today I ran about half an hour. Much better. Running away from the park has changed my life. I LOVE running in the city. Never thought I'd say that back in the start of the year when I was too timid to take those first running steps. But today I ran from one "city" (neighborhood) to another and back again and saw places that I'd otherwise never see. As I was "slaloming" past the sidewalk-planted trees (to the right of one, to the left of the next), I felt so much joy and energy. The farther I went into parts unknown, the more strength and energy I had and the faster I went...even up these dreaded Athens hills. Anyway, it was nice and I hope to keep it up. still have to help my son with some exercises and then tonight it''ll be TUFF lower body.
As usual, gotta run. Happy Hump day all!!!0 -
Hey ladies...I got here earlier than expected.
Laura, well done with your day of cardio workouts on yesterday!!:drinker:
Donna, I recorded Agents of SHIELD but not viewed yet. Well done with your workout session today as usual, too. YOU are inspiring and you may hear this being said often.
Sherry, sounds like you were running in some "soul enriching" areas this morning...just sounded wonderful. It's nice to look back and see the changes we've made with regards to our self-confidence...your no longer feeling timid about taking those first running steps...YOU GO!!!Have a great TUFF LB session this evening.
Maureen, sounds like a positive update on your kitty. I don't mind grocery shopping sometimes. DH and usually our youngest adult son (lives with us) is always involved. They push the cart and add to the bill....
WTG on your run!
Alright, time to go update JeFit logs. I performed TUFFer this morning and definitely the cardio effect from using a 15 lb DB throughout the moves. Once my Mom returns home and I have my workout space back, I can up my weights for most of the exercises. The 15 lb DB is being used as an "average" load to cover all moves this week.
Make it a HAPPY HUMP Day & have some awesome workout sessions!! TTYL....0 -
I have to ask what TUFF is? I see a few of you mentioning it and I'm not familiar with it.
FromHereOnOut that sounds like an amazing run. Love that you were slaloming around the trees!
Maureli I love grocery shopping too!
I ran in the morning all summer mostly because I hate running when it's hot outside, so it was nice to roll out of bed and be on the road as the sun was just coming up. Also I found I'm not a fan of running & doing my trainer sessions back-to-back to having a little break in between is nice!
Tonight I've got a session with my trainer. Went for a walk with a friend at lunch - it's a beautiful day here.0 -
Sounds like everyone here is super motivated! I hope I can stay that way.
Today, I started working out again. Kindof just eased into it. Did a silly belly dancing workout on youtube, tried out some Blogilates (although that about killed me. soo out of shape -__-), and the Ab Ripper 100 from the Power 90 program (love that burn).
I'm excited to exercise again.
I used to really dislike all forms of exercise/sports/etc as a kid but I love that exhausted, accomplished feeling when you finish a workout covered in sweat and know you're did your best to better yourself.
Showers are so much better after a workout too!0 -
Welcome Cassie!
Blogilates is vey difficult. I tried it a time or two, but decided it was too advanced for me and i was running the risk for injuring myself. But Fitness Blender has always been my "go to" workouts. If you haven't checked them out, just go to www.fitnessblender.com . All the videos are totally FREE. And you can search according to time, intensity, calories, type of workout, muscle groups, etc. If you sign-up (again totally free), you can save your favorite workouts. There's also a thread with favorite workout videos posted--check it out! here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/993150-favorite-online-workout-videos Just remember not to overdo it when you first start out. As a lifestyle change, there's plenty of time ahead to get fit--no need to rush and risk injury.
You're off to a great new start!!!!0
