For me it has to make sense. If I can explain to myself why it is good and believe it, then I can over come it.

Cereal is/was a temptation to me. I could probably eat just cereal for every meal if I could. Bread, pasta, chips are easy to pass up for me...it's sometimes hard for convenience sake but easily passable.

Also, there are teats at work nearly every day. I know sitting here after work that I'm just fine that I didn't eat that pumpkin bar or donut. I'd feel worse if I did. I think that's why low carb works for me...if you cheat it can throw your body off and slows you down for a few days.

Pizza is my tempting mistress. But when tempted, I think back to the end of last May, when I HATED my own fat reflection. Then, I take off my clothes and look myself over and I like seeing the lean, strong me.

However, I've been told if I strip in the grocery store once more they'll throw me in jail.

I'm sure you've heard of this, but I make kind of a pizza bake...sausage from the meat dept, pepperoni, mushrooms, cheese, and the lowest carb tomato sauce I can find. My husband could eat pizza for every meal and this helps him stay on. Although...if you really want that pan pizza there is really nothing like it!

i have the very same weaknesses, those foods are exactly what got me into the obesity trap, saying no to them has gotten me to health,

I don't usually have a sweet tooth, but DH left his caramel sauce out on the counter last night. That sweet/rich/salty flavour is one of my biggest weaknesses - it was soooo tempting to have "just one spoonful". If I hadn't just finished dinner, I might not have made it. Stepping on the scale this morning to another 2 lbs dropped sure made me grateful for resisting.
I try to keep sweet-flavoured foods (including artificial sweeteners) down to zero on most days. Then when I get the occasional craving that makes me want to snort table sugar, I can throw a half packet of sugar in a cup of coffee with extra cream and feel like I'm having a crazy indulgence.
I found it interesting how little time it took for me to notice iceberg lettuce and cucumbers tasting cloyingly sweet.
